Pros
Environment, benefits, learning opportunities, and technology
Cons
Management played favorites and you were run out of the company if you were not in their circle

Pros
Competitive pay, opportunities to learn new skills and build upon current knowledge, experience working for a government contractor, opportunity to work on an individual project that can help benefit the team. Due to the aging working population, there are opportunities for growth within the company.
Cons
Depending on the department you are in and the time of year, work may fluctuate between incredibly slow to all-out panic in an effort to meet deadlines. There is also a lot of red tape associated with government contractors. I don't think there was as much communication between teams and departments as there could have been, which led to an "us vs. them" mentality in some departments. The way documents are organized on the intranet system is a mess. As an intern there was little opportunity to gain work experience in more than one area of the company, and sometimes there was not enough work to do in general, meaning interns had to sit and wait for a new task.

Pros
If you like 60 minute commute each way, long hours with forced overtime, and being lied to and talked down to you should love this place.
Cons
Greedy, selfish, arrogant, pushy, liars, dangerous, will stop at nothing to belittle their employees. They will want to cut your pay so they can put more money into their pockets. Their benefits are less than adequate yet they tout how wonderful they are. They give thousands in bonuses to upper management and want to cut workmanship and safety.

Pros
Good pay and benefits. Work is interesting and the Richland Wa. area is a little known gem. The DOE is the customer and there is generally a good working relationship between CHPRC and the DOE.
Cons
Management is quite political and technical expertise by environmental staff is undervalued. A lot of money and time is spent investigating innovative remedial actions but it seemed that they were never implemented due to regulatory and management inertia.A tremendous amount of money is spent putting out annual reports that are little more than data dumps with very little analysis.

Pros
Salary, benefits, and excellent safety culture.
Cons
Due to the nature of DOE work it can be slow at times. That has nothing to do with the company, just the nature of the beast for this type of work.

Pros
Pay is better than in town but they are paying for the long commute. Benefits are good. Workers are kind.
Cons
Corporate doesn't look out for worker training , advancement, professional development, or succession planning. They bill the us government to move waste, not make workers better or the company better.
