    I worked at CH2M full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people, access to development programs, ability to move within the company, international opportunities

    Cons

Repeated reorganizations and acquisitions created chaos that threw career development and compensation off-track, benefits could have been better

    Advice to Management

    Find simplicity without centralizing!

I worked at CH2M (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible work schedule, responsibility in complex and long-term projects (worked as a junior engineer), was invited to attend to attend high-level meetings with clients and felt welcomed by executive management, ability to explore career interests outside of direct assignments, strong Junior and Mid-level Professional (JuMP) networking opportunities, strong intern support program through weekly skype trainings, friendly and hard-working people--no slackers!

    Cons

Many full-time employees work remotely--good for work life balance but bad for forming relationships since in-person interaction is inconsistent.
CH2M was recently acquired by Jacobs Eng. so there is a lot of uncertainty with job security, management changes, and shifts in company culture.

    Advice to Management

Maintain a focus on people and employee networking/diversity groups. Find ways to encourage more involvement from older staff--diversity matters at all levels in an organization.
Don't lose focus on environmental issues with the acquisition.

I have been working at CH2M full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

High wages, competitive benefits, well intentioned people, challenging and rewarding work that is helpful to very many people. I've enjoyed working for the company.

    Cons

If work becomes thin, you will be forced to use vacation time. This is a sketchy way to treat "salaried" employees, especially since we are usually not paid for overtime. Work > 40 = salaried. Lose a contract or experience slow work = hourly / "vacation" time.

    Advice to Management

Choose between hourly and salary compensation model.

    Pros

Great place to work. Like what I do for this company.

    Cons

The office area is terrible. No accountability for each persons work. nobody gets fired even when they should be.

    Advice to Management

Open the channels of communication with everyone. there are some good ideas out there but nothing ever happens because the ear this not there to listen.

    I have been working at CH2M full-time

    Pros

Working with Intelligent, great people. Company promotes colloborative work environment. Great culture and has an outstanting reputation in environmental stewardship. Benefits generally considered above industry average

    Cons

Company was just acquired, so it will likely see impending layoffs and more cost-cutting since it will now be a public company. A lot of uncertainty in the near future.

    Advice to Management

Do as much as possible to create as much certainty for your employees as possible. Its been a huge brain drain since rumors about the companys impending acquisition surfaced and the institutional knowledge lost over the last several years will likely affect the company for years to come.
