I have been working at CHF Industries full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

A lot of positivity and support from coworkers Opportunity to work on well known brands Creativity is encouraged

    Cons

Very non-competitive pay, especially starting out, and struggle to increase at all. From what I have heard from those who have been here longer, promotions and pay increases are minimal to non existent Enormous productivity and output expectations, more so than previous apparently. Fewer designers with more accounts and more work to do in less time. Semi frequent late nights expected Some design directors very unprofessional...

I worked at CHF Industries full-time

    Pros

Great, creative people (especially entry level through mid-level management). Great coworkers and managers that are willing and able to mentor new hires, formulating a very supportive community and educational experience. Most executives are wonderful - the CEO, EVP, most VP's are very friendly and truly care about their people as if they are family. Excellent learning environment - a great place to start out a career,...

    Cons

Late hours, depending on department. Mediocre infrustructure / technology. Overwhelming push for productivity - more than many competitors - great for getting a lot of experience within a short time period, but runs the risk of burning out designers in the long-run. Incredibly slow growth from point of entry - promotions are rare unless someone resigns. No physical HR in corporate office - makes human resources...

    Advice to Management

Learn to say "Thank You" and "Job Well Done" to ALL mid-level and lower-level employees - some of us are treated better than others, leading to employee resentment. We ALL need encouragement and positive reinforcement in order to keep the engines running.

I worked at CHF Industries for more than a year

    Pros

Great place to train and become better at your trade. Fast paced work environment where ALOT of work is produced in a short amount of time. Be prepared to multitask, excellent time management and organizational skills is a huge plus.

    Cons

Not a good place to grow. Minimum growth opportunity in terms of responsibility and pay. They often say 3 months of freelance and then they will consider you for full time employment. Many freelances worked for 2+ years without receiving a review or being considered for full time employment.

    Advice to Management

Honor what is said in the interview process in terms of expectations.

I worked at CHF Industries for more than 2 years

      Pros

Good office location, reasonable resources in terms of technology and equipment, well known company within the industry.

      Cons

This place chews people up and spits them out. Tons of people came and left while I was there, some quit and some were fired. They also gain and lose private label brands just as quickly. So if you are hired to work on one brand you can't count on that. Toxic environment due to design managers squabbling and fighting over junior staff. Everyone throws each other under the bus. No sense of community or teamwork exists...

      Advice to Management

Hire directors that wants to build successful teams vs directors that are self centered and cannot see the bigger picture of developing a brand.
