I worked at CHP International full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

They really is not any that I can think of.

    Cons

So many, they will not listen to the employees complaints and if you do go to HR on being harrassed by a boss they will end your contract. The DOL (Department of labor) contract work out to them. I have been with different companies for DOL. This one is by far the worst to work for out of all the ones I've seen come through. They will send corporate in and they no nothing about the laws of DOL (PRH, handbook), audits, HIPAA and so forth but will argue with you about your knowledge of the job. They do not support staff and that is not okay when they get millions upon millions from the government for our work. They will end your contract without a paper trail if you bring up legal issues. HR could do nothing but let it happen...

    Pros

Howard Raik took the helm with wisdom and enthusiasm. He was a man of his word but his DOL contract restrictions suffocated employee motivation.

    Cons

Perfection instead of productivity is rewarded. Critical Mass processing needs to be streamlined so that the customers do not discouraged.

    I worked at CHP International

    Pros

Money to pay your bills and take care of your family. The OA staff were kind and friendly and professional.

    Cons

CTS department is very disorganized and unprofessional Work place culture, they all pride themselves on being coworkers for more then 10 years and expect you to operate under their made up best friend rules and not the way you were barely trained They throw try to throw responsibilities on you but yet not give you the proper training or have the proper people train you. Time at a location does not mean someone is a qualified trainer and should be given the responsibility to train people. Off the clock and Work place incidents gets brushed under the rug and the wrong people are told they can face consequences.

    Pros

Great coworkers, work environment, upward mobility in the company as a whole, if not your specific department. Female-run and powered company. One of best contractors in Job Corps system.

    Cons

Emotionally demanding job at times, not a whole lot of options for advancement in this position, but lot's of upward mobility in the company itself, as mentioned above.

I have been working at CHP International full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Your job is really flexible, you have the ability to create your own schedule. You have the ability to bonus every month but it has gotten harder to do each month. No change to get a raise or move up.

    Cons

You are given a company cell phone and students call you all hours of the night and on the weekends. You are always working. The students do not really want to work, most smoke weed and can not pass required drug test to get employed. Most have no transportation to get to the job once they are hired. You have to take them until they buy a car.

I worked at CHP International full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Open door policy starting with the Project Director to the Management Team. Training of all staff is required and mandatory.

    Cons

If you aren't about working for the young people first this isn't the place for you. If you don't want to do outreach this isn't the job for you. They make you work hard. Is that really a Con?
