I worked at CHRISTUS Health full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The people you work side by side with are great

    Cons

They take over and then lay off, everything is about money. They did not care about the patients, patient safety, or employees. It is about how many people they can shove through the system to collect the most money in the shortest amount of time. Nip chances of raises, you will be lucky to keep your job. They even bring in nuns and the priest to lay people off so they don't cause a scene.

    Advice to Management

Read your mission statement and try to do what it says. Jesus was about love and healing, not money and destruction.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at CHRISTUS Health full-time

    Pros

Good front line staff who are committed to patient care.

    Cons

Terrible management and senior management is worse and are inexperienced and have run the place into the ground. Extensive favoritism, nepotism and chronysm has left the place backward and twisted. People come to work to play politics. Management bring personal issues to work and sleep around with each other. HR department broken and unhelpful.
Patient care equipment outdated and clinical practice outdated

    Advice to Management

Recycle management who have been there more than 5 years. They are the problem not the solution. Recycle staff who have been there more than 5 years. They have nothing to add to the place because they contributed to the problem. Make new management accountable. Stop throwing your staff under the bus. Take ownership of your responsibility.

Recruit talents not your friends. Loyalty and team work is important but lack of productivity will keep the place bankrupt no matter how much money Christus infuses into the place. Stop running people who actually have functioning brain cells more than you out of town because of your insecurities.

I have been working at CHRISTUS Health full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Faith Based organization whose corporate office is located in Irving, Texas.

    Cons

System Directors and higher level management are micro managers and perfectionists. There is high turnover in the corporate office and the human resources department has too much authority in my opinion. PTO must be used for designated corporate holidays in which the corporate office is closed and there is no flexibility in this policy even though the corporate is closed more than the standard holidays. In addition, System Directors are given extreme liberty in interpreting CHRISTUS policies and there are very diverse interpretations between System Directors in the interpretation of the policies. Working from home is not allowed even though several competing healthcare companies in the DFW area have this policy.

    Advice to Management

Focus on creating a better work environment if you want you improve employee morale and lower employee turnover.
