    I worked at CIA full-time

    I worked at CIA full-time

    Pros

You will have many experiences you will not have in corporate America. The work can be exciting.

    Cons

The management class either was not part of nor remembers what it was like to work in the field.

Security is a little draconian and way behind the times!

Many career services inside do not get paid what they are worth and others get paid more that their worth. Everyone wants to start at the top and not work their way up.

    Pros

I like the community. Its like a family that I never had. I wanted that, so

    Cons

People are making up that I have mental health issues. When I'm stressed out I smoke a cigarette. They changed the formula to the American Spirits and I'm a bit dissapointed, but not really. I think I can get through this now without the cover clause.

    Advice to Management

It's a smoke signal bad habit.

Job Growth and Promotion Criteria are archaic

    Advice to Management

Middle management is out of touch with current work realities. Focus on bringing experienced managers from outside the agency culture to improve the manager-employee relationship.

    Pros

Overseas travel, training, variety of career options in one Agency; amazing mission

    Cons

Very insular and cliquish, struggling to support and retain minorities, awkward and ineffective performance evaluation system

    Advice to Management

The lack of leadership courage throughout the organization shows and that's why people are leaving. Do what is right by the workforce and develop, promote, and support all officers equally.
