I worked at CIT full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some very intelligent people. Employee stock purchase program. Used to have 6% 401k match. Decent amount of opportunities to move around and gain experience in different areas.

    Cons

Compensation is less than competitors, health insurance plans get worse each year (FSA is very time consuming), and decreased 401k matching. Review process is very vague and not measurable

    Advice to Management

Improve review process and include a review of managers by subordinates. Observed high turnover in some groups due to poor managers.

I have been working at CIT full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits are reasonable, and the work-life balance isn't terrible.

    Cons

In most departments and positions, there is no room for growth; top talent was all poached from GATX and GE, so forget about moving up. There is no support for learning or development; not even on your own time nor on your own dime. New processes are implemented in a slipshod, poorly-thought-out, purely reactionary manner, and typically have to be revised immediately because of the easily foreseen and completely unacceptable consequences. Systems integral to our jobs are completely antiquated at best, and often almost completely non-functional. Chicago office is completely overlooked by corporate, and the procedures imposed from the top often fail to consider that you can't successfully run a leasing company as you do a bank. There is no in-house HR, which makes dealing with personnel issues a chore, with the hiring managers who regularly deal with HR having the upper hand in all situations; do not expect any support there. Despite a significant portion of the workforce for Rail operating out of satellite offices, there is zero support for working from home or flex time.

I worked at CIT full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Coast to coast presence.
    Locations convienent for commute.

    Cons

Chaotic environment with no clear vision or leadership. Constant change to org structure and need for "special projects" that just cost time and money and rarely get completed. Constantly ask for more from the employees because of dysfunctional management decisions without proper recognition of the staff in terms of comp, benefits, hours or development.

I worked at CIT full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people I worked with. The people in Facilities were amazing. I was happy to make a positive contribution in a company that I was proud to work for.

    Cons

Bottom line is profits! I wanted to help the employees be more productive with cost saving products and simple items to save time and money.

    Advice to Management

Please look at your employees as an asset and help with retaining that talent. Many people worked really hard to make a positive experience at the company

I worked at CIT full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Extremely flexible approach toward call handling: no call length requirements. If you can find a creative way to explain a customer's situation to them, and it resolves the situation, take your time.

    Cons

Not much opportunity for advancement if you stay in the call center, but it's a tight group, and it's reliable $46k cashflow if you can meet your metrics.

    Advice to Management

I don't have any advice to provide. As I have yet to represent any managerial position, I can't make any recommendations.
