Will overwork you and lots of favorism

      Pros

Great doctors and you learn a lot

      Cons

Some doctors are plain old rude; managers play favorites with employees; whoever is not in the medical field does not show professionalism and low pay for the amount of work required

      Horrendous management and corporate team

      Pros

-Usually your direct coworkers (the ones within the same job function) are incredibly supportive and helpful. -The overtime hours are typically available on a virtually unlimited basis. -Snacks available (chips, granola bars)

      Cons

-Terrible performance from management and corporate (hourly employees end up slapped with corny emails from corporate that have the goal of controlling the uproar of anger resulting from being betrayed and abused) -Protocols change hourly, which is pretty normal for the medical field, but the protocols are not concrete. They vary site to site. Managers usually have no clue what is going on in regards to protocols... I had a coworker that was written up after mentioning an indoor capacity protocol she had observed at a sister site... The managers essentially listened to her and approved the enforcement of those protocols. She was then written up by said management. Therefore, she reached out to HR/corporate and her write up was reversed. As a result, the extremely incompetent and nauseating DM as well as site manager began acting like fire ants. People above you speak to you in a general manner, so don't correct them because even if you get HR involved, they will drive you out. -Benefits are pretty good, HOWEVER, the most important aspect of benefits is obviously health insurance, and their options are terrible. The insurer they use is OON with their own facility for physical and routine services, so if you want to get a physical or routine vaccine... at your OWN place of employment... be prepared to pay out of pocket. -Upper level corporate employees are completely blinded. Have no clue what's going on within the sites... Huge slap in the face. You could be by yourself in a setting that requires at least double the staffing... and you'll end up with a corny email from the CEO as he walks his pet ferret through Central Park. -Pay rate is extremely mediocre. You could earn the same standing, looking pretty at Costco. So unless you're coming for the "on the books" experience like I did, do not work here. You could earn the same or even more doing something completely brainless. -Be prepared to be ordered around, left understaffed and not paid for the fact that you're doing the job of three people. Be prepared to, within a month or two, realize you'll earn what you can and leave within half a year.

Not a good place to be long-term

      Pros

Opportunity for overtime , good exposure to medical field if interested in MD, PA or NP programs, great opportunities to network with healthcare professionals

      Cons

Medical benefits are horrible, company is growing faster than what they can keep up with i.e. constantly understaffed and having to pull people from other sites last minute to compensate for the lack of staff.....bottom line is you're over worked and underpaid but it's a job that will get your feet wet in the healthcare field.
