Good work life balance, but terrible when it comes to merit increases and promotions

      Pros

Solely referring to the engineering department at CJ Affiliate, don't know how other departments operate. Pros: -Work life balance is phenomenal, normally do not like unlimited PTO, but it's really enjoyable here. -Stress free work environment, no deadlines, get things done on your own time. -Great learning environment as your working with very knowledgeable engineers who are always open to help.

      Cons

Cons: -Unable to retain engineers, 12-15 engineers leaving in a span of under a year due to pay (merit increases/promotions) and management doesn't care (someone upstairs obviously doesn't care) or bother to retain engineers. Excuse is that they are crippled by their parent company (Publicis) but have no issues offering up to 10k in referral bonuses and hiring new employees across departments. In addition, VP of Engineering's thoughts on how to retain employees is that CJ is a "startup", which is not the case at all. There's no happy hours, yearly bonuses, equity, fun activities, etc. If you're starting new negotiate for a higher base salary because you're gonna be stuck with it for awhile if you do decide to stay.

      Fast growth, quick burnout

      Feb 3, 2021 - Client Partnerships Manager

      Pros

-Salary is really high for an account management role. You won't find other companies paying this much for entry/mid level roles -Clear growth pipeline in the client service field; you get promoted quickly if you're competent, but you'll get promoted if you're not competent -Friendly/young/inclusive culture; people are genuinely nice and always willing to help. I feel like everyone has good intentions in supporting each other -Great place to start your career right out of school due to corporate structure stability -Very structured 9-5 work hours; the company is really stringent on work-life balance. it's frowned upon to work weekends or late, and I appreciated that -Flexible/Unlimited PTO

      Cons

-Lots of stagnation; great if you like working with clients, but there's no clear path in staying within the company if you're looking to expand your skillsets beyond. After 3 years here, I feel like I'm still doing the same work -Your satisfaction with this job is directly correlated to how demanding your clients are; there's really not much you can control there. I felt like complaining would make me "that person" -It feels like nobody is passionate about working here, and that it's just a job rather than a career. I noticed people are always looking to leave, so turnover messes up workloads quickly -Hard working team members will have to take on more work and get burned out, and the cycle continues -Outdated platform and technology; lots of manual work that could be solved with actual product investment rather than fancy tools to show off to clients -Account teams have little to no understanding what Directors do; all my growth so far has been attributed to my day-to-day teams. Directors hold meetings, join client business reviews, and provide little (if any) guidance.

      Pros

      - Hands on learning and understanding of client-centered media planning, marketing mix, attribution, and partnership building in the digital marketing space. - Team-based account planning - you work with a team at CJ. - Growth and potential path for promotion seems to be quicker than other companies. - A healthy mix of clients in book of business (Fortune 500 to medium size businesses, variety of verticals) that you get to work with. - Affiliate is a growing industry with potential in digital as a whole. - Conference experience - you attend conferences with clients to meet with partners/affiliates.

      Cons

      - Not a ton of diversity cognitively/socially/culturally. - Work/life balance is better for some people (those who complain or those who don't care). Otherwise it's not great.
