I have been working at CJ Affiliate by Conversant full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

*There are some really great colleagues here at the company *For those in the Santa Barbara HQ, location is great *Work with some blue chip clients

    Cons

*Leadership lacks a real, coherent strategy *The company is hemorrhaging the most talented people. It seems obvious to say, but the best people are the first to leave when it's apparent that the ship is slowly sinking, but leadership doesn't seem to get that. They don't value good people and make no real effort to retain top talent. *Meetings with top executives are generally spent obsessing over the most trivial...

    Advice to Management

*Get to know your people and their skills - and listen to their ideas as well as their critical thoughts and frustrations. There are some great minds out there that you're ignoring. *Take a good hard look at the leadership team, consider their skills, and answer the question: are they really qualified to be in those positions?

I have been working at CJ Affiliate by Conversant full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good experience in a niche industry, fun quarterly team outings, the social committee puts on great events throughout the year.

    Cons

Where to even begin? New leadership has caused a shift from CJ being a great place to work for work/life balance - especially if you have responsibilities outside of work like caring for a family. Not anymore! Everyone is overworked and with leadership sending emails at all hours of the night, it seems like the expectation is that all employees should dedicate themselves 110% to CJ and have no outside life. The workload...

    Advice to Management

Fix the issues and realize that many of the people who have been here for 5+ years enjoyed working here for the family-friendliness and work/life balance that CJ was known for. Don't expect us to adapt to this new workaholic mentality or you're going to just continue to see extremely high rates of employee turnover.

I have been working at CJ Affiliate by Conversant full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The people. You will work with some of the brightest, kindest people you could ever imagine, who really do want to help their clients and the company be better. Portfolios are interesting and diverse, many top brands are a part of CJ so you get exposure to working with large, recognizable companies.

    Cons

It's been brutal to watch CJ continue on this downward spiral. There is absolutely no regard to the well-being of the employees - the new health insurance is only the latest in a slew of cost-saving measures that only serve to make stocks go up and employee happiness decrease substantially. The salaries are not competitive for the amount of work you are given - BEWARE! There are much more lucrative opportunities out...

    Advice to Management

All the things that were great about this company - benefits, work/life balance, and fair treatment - are now gone. Stop caring only about money and start caring about the employees who service your clients. The only reason many clients stick with CJ is because of your employees who build those relationships with them. It's too obvious that the executive staff couldn't care less, and clients as well as talent, will leave....

I worked at CJ Affiliate by Conversant full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - The company will give you good trainings about the digital space - Overall nice people - Large autonomy for different projects

    Cons

    - Be ready for a battle of egos that will lead to a large turn-over - Lack of structure and objectives from a changing top management - Middle management can be great or completely awful - Salary not high and does not evolve at all - Average product vs the market

    Advice to Management

Not everything need to be thrown away but the lack of culture and objectives with some people who don't care about their employees need to be deeply reviewed.

    Pros

There is a really bright future here at CJ. We went through a lot of interesting changes last year, but it seems every organization must go through change in order to accomplish bigger and better it things. It feels as though all of the changes have been for the better. The organization as a whole seems to be making strides in the right direction. More recently we've had several new accounts come in that are pretty exciting...

I worked at CJ Affiliate by Conversant full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Used to have a good culture where everyone was collaborative. Generally nice people. Tries to maintain good benefits and budgets money and time for teams to have fun together.

    Cons

The company literally and figuratively has no vision. Strategy is driven by the loudest client threatening to leave which leads to a constant state of scrambling. There is a dog-eat-dog culture of open disrespect and this is slowly driving out all of the high-performers. Low-performers are allowed to stay for many years without contributing and barely showing up enough to do their jobs. The leadership team is comprised...

    Advice to Management

Focus on core offering rather than bright shiny objects to bring more in line with the competition. Also don't forget about retaining good employees in the process. Retention isn't always about money (though that can significantly improve) but is often about fostering a healthy work environment where nobody feels attacked in their jobs.
