I have been working at CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Freedom to work independently, good flex options, people

    Cons

No career development or path for non-professionals, not willing to pay for certifications for non-professional employees, i.e. project management, proposal management, MS Office, etc.

    Advice to Management

While the CPAs are, of course, the base of the firm, client deliverables wouldn't get done without administrative personnel. Value them too.

I have been working at CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) full-time

    Pros

Flexible work hours if you don't need to be at a client.

    Cons

As a new hire you generally start in audit even if you really don't want to be in audit. But the company really works to get you to where you want to be in a timely manner.

I have been working at CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Top rate coaching system to help with career growth but also to navigate the day to day at the firm. The path forward is there if you want it. Good pay and incredible PTO policy (unlimited so long as you are on track to meet your charge hour budget). This plus great flexibility (working from other offices, working from home when needed) really make clear the reward you are getting in return for your busy season hours. Flexible schedules (reduced charge hour budget for reduced pay) are often made available for students, new parents, etc.

    Cons

Typical seasonal public accounting hours. Typical tax busy seasons for tax people and busy seasons dependent on your clients’ year ends for audit people. The payoff to the busy season hours is clear, though, in the PTO policy (you can take as much time off as you want outside of season if your hours are up to speed)

I worked at CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Every person I worked with was genuine and nice. I worked in the Tucson office. I had a great view with a nice desk and a new computer. A nice work environment for a ground-level employee.

    Cons

Like all public accounting, it can get busy at time.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up

    Pros

Staff is easy to get along with. Flexible with hours which allows to juggle between work and family life.

    Cons

Flat percentage raises. Reviews are in November each year and the decision is made on promotion in May and June. Limited training for growth. Coaches are not involved with staff.

    Pros

The employees are awesome to work with. Casual environment.

    Cons

Not flexible work arrangements as they so very push on people to join CLA. Undervalued by management.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees with respect and not just a number.

I have been working at CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great culture, but that could be office specific. CLA is very flexible with PTO, holidays and flexible schedule arrangements. There is no
micro managing. Get your work done and correctly and you get treated like an individual and an adult, not their employee. CLA is “the career building firm” and this couldn’t be more true. They want to help build your career, with a CLA or elsewhere.

    Cons

Too many people in management so it becomes difficult to know who actually makes the decisions. Lack of policy and procedure.

    Advice to Management

Be willing to listen to staff and new employees. Sometimes people who are older or who have been with the company for 10+ years, are locked in with their ideals and opinions and it’s hard to grow from that.
