I worked at CLP Resources full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

No hassle set up once registered for temporary work.
Complete freedom from management once project is set up. Fair wages for fair labor.

    Cons

Promises of PW work that never comes to fruition. Sometimes the pressure of taking on projects out of
    normal scope of work.

    Advice to Management

Solid lead for project referral before asking for commitment.

I worked at CLP Resources full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Straight up, they pay on time. That's hard to find in the construction industry! No problems with the hotel other than the distance from the job site but that wasn't the company's fault, just availability of a close hotel.

    Cons

Work is temporary and did not last as long as they said. When you take a job, you pick the one that would be the most beneficial. There were other jobs that I could have accepted for better pay and more work.

    Advice to Management

Get a better idea of the actual length of the project when signing on workers. That's a major problem in the industry and when getting burned by the company, probably won't sign back on for future jobs.

I worked at CLP Resources full-time

    Pros

-Self-gratifying work if you enjoy placing people to temporary work.
-CLP is part of Trueblue Inc, the leader in blue collar staffing.
-Not sure how it is now but back in 14' the commission structure was good and almost guaranteed
-Good balance of hardworking and laid back days.

    Cons

    -No upward mobility.
-Raises are a joke, almost offensive.
    - Unreliable co-workers can sometimes cause work to pile up and you have no choice but to accept it.
-Staffing in construction is seasonal and this may cause inconsistent work to the people you place assignments for. Granted the essence of a temp agency is meant solely by providing "temporary" work yet some folks don't quite understand this to a degree and it can feel like you're walking in eggshells sometimes.

    Advice to Management

Hire more dependable and reliable internal workers. It would also be a good idea to consider hiring younger folks with a college degree.

  8. "Great for Temporary but beware of Perma-temping"

I worked at CLP Resources full-time

    Pros

As a temporary sign up and send out job, it was fast and easy to get signed up and sent out to a job. The office team always called back and I never felt ignored when I had issues. I worked for them for 5 years and their staff remained the same at the home office which was also a big plus.

    Cons

They don't do well with long term benefits. Health care is offered but it is the lowest level possible, 401K benefits were recently dropped. Though W-2's were digital, which was a plus - there was almost always something wrong on your W-2. Last issue is that CLP sees their clients as the people you are working for NOT you. They were never anti-employee but it was obvious that keeping business flowing was more important than pushing limits to try and get you paid at a higher rate. You have to play hard ball, they will not do that for you.
