I have been working at CME Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Fostering a spirit of innovation is something that CME Group excels in; I have been here for several years, and it is exciting and fulfilling to see new strategies and activities launched for employees to help them bring new ideas to life.

The collaborative nature of the organization, as well as the ability to take ownership of projects without any micro-management, are two key attributes that keep me at CME Group. I feel that I can grow my career here because I am enabled to run with ideas or projects, but can leverage teamwork and collaborating with smart people to help set me up for success.

Last year, I told my boss that I needed more collaboration and strategy in my day to day work to feel engaged, and he was able to put me on projects with visibility across divisions - I finished the year with a restored energy for my job.

    Cons

You need to ask for something if you want it; don't just assume management knows what you need to be successful.

I have been working at CME Group (Less than a year)

    Pros

Excellent work life balance and benefits. Pension plan is a plus. Competitive compensation and friendly work environment. Fast paced environment with bright individuals. Plenty of in house complimentary training opportunities.

    Cons

Career paths depend on the department. Some are very straightforward where others are non existent. Most people either move to another department or leave the company to progress.

I have been working at CME Group as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Everyone is friendly and is willing to help in any way they can. I have had the ability to learn and work in different areas while staying an intern for the same department.

    Cons

Millennials are not very aware of CME Group and the opportunities that it has to offer.
CME needs to focus more on promoting the company to younger generations; afterall, we will be the future customer base and talent base that the company will need to strive.

I worked at CME Group as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

There were multiple great mentors who were at least partially enthusiastic about the internship and the projects given to you. Many chances to take charge of your own projects. Great people who can be laid back and provide good company as well as very smart and provide great advice.

    Cons

It appears that this is a field that is slightly behind the times when it comes to technology and in some areas. This can affect how certain teams operate and what projects are undertaken. Additionally, security and regulations make it difficult to press forward sometimes on projects.
