I worked at CMG Financial full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Company has good benefits and pay is average

    Cons

The upper management is a complete clique. If you are not in the clique, you have will not move up and you will find yourself marginalized.

    Advice to Management

Break down the walls. You come across as a group of elitist snobs. You have the opportunity to prove if this is true or a misconception. Also, ensure that the loan officers are respecting other employees. While it is understandable that the loan officers are quite important, I have never seen a Loan Funded completely by a loan officer.

    Pros

Not much pros but there is flexible office hours.

    Cons

Lots of unfairness and favoritism within the company. Not a fun company culture. All work no play.

    Advice to Management

Treat and appreciate your employees better, especially in operations, not just your sales staff.

I worked at CMG Financial full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Work hours flexible, work from home, good benefits

    Cons

No annual reviews or pay increases. Unless you are family or one of the favorites, it's very difficult to gain more responsibilities or move up in the company, even after they tell you it's going to happen. Management always makes excuses for why after they tell you that you will be given more responsibilities that it never actually happens. Very frustrating to never know where you actually stand since they tell you one thing and then never follow thru with it.

    Advice to Management

Do annual reviews for your employees so they know where they stand, know what they need to improve on and what expectations are. Follow thru on verbal commitments made and make employees feel valued. (all employees, not just the favorites.)

Performance Management is a priority for the Human Resources Department and CMG. We are currently looking into several processes and hope to have one in place very soon.

    Pros

Opportunity to work tough files and hone skill of getting a loan approved. It's an income source.

    Cons

No annual review nor salary adjustments. Management displays gross disparity to employees, if you are not a personal friend or family member, not much potential for growth opportunities. Company location is sub-par as building needs updates, no cafeteria or deli nor vending machine and distance to restaurants eat up lunch break.

I worked at CMG Financial full-time

    Pros

Company prefers to hire less during times of need. This typically translates to laying off less in hard times (in the mortgage industry, this is great news as it creates a more stable atmosphere).
This company has also had some great low level managers and enhancement opportunities do exist if you work for them. It has been a pleasure to work with, despite a constantly shifting atmosphere.

    Cons

Pay Raises and Performance Reviews do not happen - as such, only a promotion or being truly invaluable and complaining about pay will get a pay raise. Nepotism is rather rampant. I do get a "two face" feel from upper management, however and upper management has significant priority and understanding issues with certain departments.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the little people more, there are needs that are not being addressed.
Also, do performance reviews. It helps to make employees better through creating professional and worth-while incentives; especially if you apply related pay-raises.
