I worked at CMG Financial full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

my boss was great until he wasn't. once you are disliked you will be forced out sooner or later. however; the benefits are great in comparison to what i've found after. i paid $250 a check for everything for my entire family. my next job was twice that!

    Cons

worked here 3 years and 4 months; not a single review. not once; also no raises ever. i was finally given a raise when i threatened to leave. despite knowledge, hard work and dedication there was zero growth opportunities. i finally burned myself out and quit. very who you know company; make friends with the right people and you're good regardless of abilities.

    Advice to Management

get your account managers to do their jobs rather than allowing them to pass it off to underwriting or registration. or even sales. I have never seen such a useless group of employees as the wholesale account managers. set up an actual review and raise system.

I worked at CMG Financial full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

You get to work with hard-working and talented people who pull their weight. I have never seen or worked with any slackers.

    Cons

No raises unless you threaten to leave. If you quit, you are "not being loyal." If they don't like you, they'll fire you anyway. No incentives. No holiday celebrations or parties. If you meet the monthly goal, you get a pat on the back. Lots of micromanaging for no reason. No headphones even though people talk loudly and yell across the room. No cellphone usage unless you're...

    Advice to Management

Trust your hard working employees and reward them when they meet goals. People need to be happy in order to stay productive and do great work. Stop standing over their shoulder when everything they're doing on the computer is work related. For a company of 20+ years, you have a lot to learn from start ups.

I worked at CMG Financial full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Great group of people to work with.....but that is pretty much it. used to have holiday parties, catering, but no more

    Cons

No raises unless you get a promotion, and promotions doesn't happen unless you are part of the family click. People get hired and promoted and not know what a 1003 is. All the corporate Assistance have it made, all they have to do is Walk the SVP dog name Pandora 3 times a day, and gets paid mega bucks. been there 3 years and every year there is a layoff. No overtime what so...

    Advice to Management

try to give annual raises. and focus less on who is in your click.. since the owner opened the new restaurant in WC -Sunol Ridge, it has gone down hill. sometimes you have to either pick your dream or pick your money. quality people are leaving the company. the average employee last about 3.5 year at most, they they are either laid off or leave the company unless you got it good with upper management

I have been working at CMG Financial full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

lots of work to keep busy, fairly flexible hours and great benefits

    Cons

no yearly evaluations=NO RAISES or praises unless you change positions to a different department. Jobs that are on their job board never indicate a pay scale so it makes one less inclined to apply.

    Advice to Management

Give a yearly evaluation and let your employees know how they are doing A pat on the back and a small raise every now and then would help build morale. They are loosing good employees because the majority of employees prefer to have yearly evaluations/raises. When you advertise a job on your job board, state the starting pays. That makes it easier for people to determine if they want to apply for the position, makes...

I have been working at CMG Financial full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Family atmosphere amongst trench workers. Benefits are Great! Sometimes weekly potlucks

    Cons

Mis-management. No Reviews. No raises. too much nepotism. zero accountability.

    Advice to Management

come up with a self review system that involves setting goals, keeping track of the goals, and having real-time training to be able to perform job function correctly. Working here for so many years/months and not one review nor raise is disheartening and overwhelmingly spirit-crushing. Taking suggestions from the workforce seriously. The mangement could learn a great deal from the employees if the employees didn't have...
