I have been working at CMI/Compas full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Large company with a small company feel; feels like family here! Benefits and pay are very competitive as well. CMI is the only company in this industry that has such a well-defined training program for all new hires. Every subject matter is covered so that the transition is easy for new hires.

    Cons

Since we are growing, we hire many people throughout the year - lots of training to do!

    Advice to Management

More team bonding activities, rather than company-wide activities.

I have been working at CMI/Compas full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great company culture, learned a lot about media planning in this entry level role. There are some really excellent employees and mentors at this company. They frequently hold company event.

    Cons

You will be marketing on behalf of some of the largest pharmaceutical drug companies.

    Pros

    Good work environment, lovely office

    Cons

As an entry level associate I received little help from supervisors about questions on accounts.

They'd rather replace you than help you.

I have been working at CMI/Compas full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

supporting and challenging environment, lots of training and flexibility, open-mindedness from CEO and executive team.
Benefits include working from home 1 day a week, flexible schedules, WPP benefits package (including discounts), 401k with match, in depth training program and onboarding for employees, fun committees to celebrate, summer Friday program, wellness programs in each office (including gyms or fitness programs run by employees), annual performance reviews and development plans, opportunities for employees to give feedback to managers and leadership, etc...

    Cons

we are fast growing, so we still need to figure out how to keep the closeness and relationships that we had while smaller. Fun committees and bell-ringers (recognition meeting held monthly) are a good thing, but can do more.

    Advice to Management

continue to be open minded and encourage ideas from all places. some of our best accomplishments have been made that way!

I have been working at CMI/Compas full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Great People
    - Strong emphasis on keeping employees abreast of changes in the Healthcare landscape

    Cons

    - Because CMI has a team dedicated to cultivating and maintaining Supplier relationships, Planners are limited in selecting viable partners/vendors
    - They bait you in with the "work from home once a week" attribute, yet that depends on team as I have only worked from home during bad weather or when my manager decides...which is almost never
    - Very corporate, not the fun agency you are used to if you have been elsewhere
    - Point based appraisal...you have to jump through hoops to get promoted
    - Favoritism at it's finest
    - Old and outdated proprietary media management tool (ISMO)
    - Outdated media processes
    - Can't speak for the entire agency, however very little guidance from management
    - Everything rides on doing timesheets...borderline harassment if not completed DAILY

    Advice to Management

Take a closer look at your management/team leads. Re-think the point system...it's not motivating, it's exhausting! Do continue to keep employees engaged and abreast of the changing landscape of the HCP and DTC market. Don't continue to utilize outdated tools. You can not talk about being an industry leader if your internal tools are unproductive. Lastly, get rid of the excel templates as a means of communicating changes.
