I worked at CMIE full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    1. Manageable work load and timings, weekends are holidays..at least for now
    2. Good as a startup job, opportunity to learn for a fresher

    Cons

1.No defined HR policies with respect to employee appraisal, salary hikes, all depends on your negotiation and perception about you.
2.Business is owned by family and run according to whims and fancies of the CEO who is also a family member.
3.Bad work culture and zero job security, I have seen colleagues getting sacked on the spot, views of senior managers are biased.

    Pros

Finance team's manager is really really helpful.
    Very down to earth.
    Colleagues were also very helpful.
CEO is an amazing person and you can approach him without taking permission from your manager.
He will directly work with you, if required.
Good for those people who are pursuing some other courses simultaneously as you have a lot of time to study your own syllabus.
If you are a newspaper lover , Congo you will get variety of newspapers and time to read them.

    Cons

    Low salary, less work.
May be these are the major reasons that people leave this company.
There is no motivation to work as there are no incentives.

    Advice to Management

Salary and work are two important things for a professional.
Both are not up to mark.
You need to work on both of these aspects .
Managers need to concentrate on the work rather than discussing weakness of all the employees in their respective teams.
Finance team's manager is a nice lady.

I worked at CMIE full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

9-5 job for researchers and IT guys
    5 days working
Business executives get to travel as there is high employee attrition rate
Gud for fresh graduates, gud learning exposure, gud for people who want to simultaneously pursue higher studies

    Cons

Does not pay & expect mbas to work. Sorry you cant afford 'good' mbas & that s y we left together.
There is no incentives for business exes and bcoz of these ppl lack aggression during selling. Ppl work like govt employees bcoz they get fixed sal.
bcoz they dont pay they attract leftover, incapable & unemployable ppl who furthr spoil the work environment.
Everyone r treated same no matter how they perform. Theres no hr team, proper employee monitoring system, recognition for work & proper designation and hierarchy. There is a difference of only Rs. 1000-3000 /month between high performing and low performing employees after appraisal. This was very demotivating.
they dont care for the people. chairs and tables are broken where BEs used to sit. few of my colleagues found cockroaches in there coffee.
    Ceo decides everything.

    Advice to Management

There is no mngt. Ceo and his family decides everything.

I worked at CMIE full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I don't think there is any reason to work in the company.

    Cons

There are thousands of cons in the company. If I will start writing now then it will take a full month for this.
Every morning CEO of the company woke up and changes the mentality. He suddenly decided to shut the Jaipur branch and many people got unemployed. Company is having no processes. One CEO is ruling the company even he wants that every employee should agree with his statement either he is wrong or right but the thing is that he is always wrong.
He likes the people who says Yes sir Yes sir. The CEO have no brain to think what is right or wrong. One day he is saying this thing, and another next day he is saying totally different thing. Company is not having Any hr department. Only CEO decides that where employees can sit and he even decides that other employees should say in meeting. No independence nothing.
    Pathetic

    Pros

    I cant think of any.

    Cons

Suggestions from clients who are been fooled and sold the product, doesnt matter. And remember, every year there is a hike in the product charges, despite no improvement in the product. Clients queries are not solved for years together and even than clients are approached with hikes product fees.

MD needs to retire and hand over management to someone else, I am sure the day MD will do that many seniors in the company will also have to hand up their shoes as they have been taking lot of advantage of current MD's strategy. However, of late, MD has understood and have been trying to demote few of the senior employees (who have been laibility for the company for years).

Junior level employees are been fooled time and again by MD and seniors in the company.

    Advice to Management

My advice is to the Board of Directors, that fire MD of the company. Otherwise this company would be nowhere in few years down the line. MD is just trying to come out with new products (few of them not even required by the market) every year and increasing the charges or fees for existing products. Board should ask MD what is his strategy to improve company's finance.

I know Board has not got much power as it is family oriented company, but than day is not far when company will have to be closed.

Please start taking clients suggestion seriously. The day from when clients would be served well, company's fortune will change. Remember clients can be fooled once or twice, but not everytime. They may stop using CMIE's service sooner or later.
