I have been working at CNA full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company is really building momentum, continously building on its improving culture, improving results, and addressing employee feedback. It's really evolving into an energetic place to work.

    Cons

CNA has some inherent challenges as it is a larger company. It's difficult to keep folks on the same page as the rate change is accelerating. One must understand change as an opportunity to thrive in this environment.

    Advice to Management

Change management is important here. How employees are able to deal with any inherent uncertainties that they may have will define how engaged employees remain/become. A recommendation would be to have management help employees manage through change by helping set expectations appropriatel to aid in eliminating some uncertainty that folks have.

I worked at CNA full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great people to work with, & very family oriented. The company has a very good health care plan & 401k. You also have the chance to work remotely from home when needed. They also have business casual on Friday's.

    Cons

The commute from the suburbs to the city & was to long & tiring from the train station to the company.

I have been working at CNA full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Truly feel a sense of collaboration among cross departmental teams to deliver on the organizations goal to be externally focused while offering a superior experience.

I experience a drive toward inclusion of all employees and a HR department that works to provide the best work life balance it can offer.

    Cons

The organization has been transitioning executive leadership for the past two years and I get a sense will continue to transition in the coming year which can have a paralyzing effect on the workforce in terms of high level focus with enough detail to act upon.

    Advice to Management

Transparent communication from executive leadership down to managers to effectively set expectation and ease unwarranted transition rumors.

I have been working at CNA full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I joined CNA to be part of a change - new CEO coming in is asking all the right questions about the future of the business and creating new opportunities. Great worklife balance and friendly culture.

    Cons

Change creates some uncertainty - if you're into the status quo it's probably not the best place for you. Chicago HQ is dated but we're moving into a brand new building in 2018 which looks really cool.
