I have been working at CNH Industrial N.V. full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The boss is fair and works with his team.

    Cons

PLM is a joke, when the manager tells you he would have placed you in the green but he was told he needs to have someone in the red to make the "Bell Curve" work, so he places you in the red. Great incentive to give your all.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the current PLM process and rank everyone according to their performance.

I have been working at CNH Industrial N.V. full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

good people and good amount of activity at work. the company has enough space to take walks around inside during winter. the cafeteria is ok.

    401 K is good.

    Cons

    - no year or year increase to adjust for inflation. and a lot of people were hired thinking year over year adjustment is a norm... only after starting, they find out there is no increase in salary and they are getting paid less every year.
-right now ag is down, and bonus is very low and multipliers for bonus are constantly changing.
    - company does not invest in employee training enough.
    - upper manangement does not focus on career development for new people at all.
    - culture is good for people with families as the company is very traditional in its culture.
    - top down italian culture that does not follow through to the bottom of the organization well.

    Advice to Management

people are your greatest assets. please consider YOY adjustment.

I worked at CNH Industrial N.V. (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good pay. Good people. Interesting place to work.

    Cons

Not pro-active. 1950s mentality. "This is how we've always done it" should be their slogan.

Layoffs will always start with older employees and women. Few men get laid off (only older men).

    Advice to Management

Before laying people off, find out what position X actually does for you and your management team. Essential"critical to business" people get laid off because management do not take the time to see what they do. CNH will never be #1 in the industry until the start looking at how they manage.

I have been working at CNH Industrial N.V. full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Union workforce. Decent pay. Coworkers are all good people. Air conditioned building. Food service serves breakfast and lunch. That's about all I can think of.

    Cons

Union workforce. Too much mandatory over-time, they can't seem to operate without forcing people to work it. Middle managers are not qualified for the jobs they are given (the managers over the machining dept don't have any machining experience, for example). There's high turn-over in the engineering dept so there's not a lot of support.. Maintenance dept is understaffed so the machines are not maintained adequately. The company pushes their World Class Manufacturing philosophy but only actually only worry about creating an illusion rather than living the philosophy, for example they worry about if the paperwork is done but not whether the actual work that the paperwork reflects was done.

    Advice to Management

Stop working all the mandatory overtime. Hire more maintenance people to keep the machines running. Realize that the workforce has been doing the job longer than most of the managers and engineering support and that they actually might know a thing or two about building tractors.

    Pros

Rank & file are down to earth, hard working & interested in doing what's best to grow the company.

    Cons

Senior management is very disjointed - no clear vision or plan, very slow moving. For potential employees: be very cautious working with HR. Make sure you are very, very thorough in your investigations re: not only salary & benefits, but also about raises (virtually non-existent), transparency of performance review process, and career promotions and paths.

    Advice to Management

    Fix the silos & HR

I have been working at CNH Industrial N.V. full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits are good, but getting worse with each year that they renew.
    Holidays off with pay
Room for advancement if you know the right people and are willing to relocate

    Cons

"boys club" mentality - hard to get ahead if female, or not friends with the right people
They don't give raises! PLM system makes it seem like it's possible to obtain a raise, but it is not in reality.

    Advice to Management

Start listening to employees, they have good ideas. Don't take advantage of your hard workers.

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at CNH Industrial N.V. as an intern (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Work is steady on the Engineering side, since the company always seems to be way below head count for engineering departments my job is secure. The healthcare and 401K benefits are very good

    Cons

Lack of vision and management direction. Company isn't very good at planning to compete with industry competitors and often lags behind the innovation curve as a result. Also the company has a policy against giving raises, they won't even give out a yearly COLA raise. Pay starts out mediocre and stays there until you eventually leave the company for better paying work.

    Advice to Management

There is a reason all of your engineers leave immediately after being vested in the 401K contributions. Your compensation strategy doesn't work, fix it or remain the definition of mediocrity in the industry.
