I have been working at CNO Financial Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Competitive salary, strong leadership, upward mobility, work/life balance, volunteer opportunities and community involvement, strong local presence

    Cons

Typical politics that come with a mid-size corporation, lack of technology, culture is not progressive (doesn't know how to target millennials).

    Advice to Management

Invest in technology and merging systems, allow parental leave, look at the successful progressive companies and BE MORE LIKE THEM!

I worked at CNO Financial Group (More than 3 years)

    Pros

High pay, benefits decent, some job perks like free tickets at the fieldhouse

    Cons

Leadership is demanding, gives no autonomy, treats employees like children and/or slaves, very little employee engagement/morale in most areas, products sold are a rip off for most customers, they don't value people/employees at all, all the value is in high output from teams to better affect the bottom line, expect salaried employees to regularly work 60+hours a week year round with a "suck it up" mentality. There are some good people there who are brainwashed that this is how a company should be run and don't know any better because they've spent their whole career there. It's a shame.

    Advice to Management

Empower you employees, treat them with respect, let people have ownership of their jobs, value people's personal time and make less demands. Have reasonable expectations.

I worked at CNO Financial Group (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Friendly culture, good working environment, good community involvement.

    Cons

Most development and support are offshore, managed by third party consulting firm Cognizant. Much of IT staff was "rebadged" to Cognizant and later released. Very little job security.

    Advice to Management

Value your people more than the bottom line. Seek to know every employee rather than making blind decisions en masse about their futures.

    Pros

Better than living on the streets.

    Cons

Poor pay, zero ethical standards. Sell what makes the company money, not what's best for the customer.

    Advice to Management

Focus on customer need. Try actually paying your employees.

I have been working at CNO Financial Group full-time

    Pros

I have worked in different places, by far CNO offers the best work environment ever. Co-workers and managers are amazing. Benefits and the pay are great.

    Pro:
1- Everyone is friendly and mature.
2- Pay, benefits and management is excellent.
3- The company proactively cares about the well being of its employee "feeling very spoiled".
4- Friendly and flexible work environment.
    5- Huge advancement chances offered.

    Cons

I'm trying hard to find a some cons, can't think of any.

I worked at CNO Financial Group full-time

    Pros

This could vary by department, my in experience the presence of long-tenured employees provides expertise and stability.
Employees had a decent work-life balance.

    Cons

When I was there, the company was in the process of divesting certain lines of business, which creates uncertainty. Much of that is now in the past, but some questions linger due to an unclear mission statement.
CNO faces the standard large company issues of politics and bureaucracy.

    Advice to Management

The company mission was always unclear to me, and the company mission statement is simply not helpful. Establish a clear vision, communicate that vision, stick religiously to that vision, and let your workforce implement it.

    Pros

Wellness and on-site clinic and cafeteria

    Cons

Extremely poor management, poor employees are rewarded by being released to other departments. Good employees are punished they are denied time off for internal interviews, they are not released to. Go-to other departments, leads, supervisors and managers are incompetent.

    Advice to Management

Award good employees don't fire good employees because of their salary rate
