I have been working at COTG full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

COTG really cares about their employees. I have been working here for just under a year now and I cannot imagine being anywhere else. Not only does COTG look to their employee's opinions, they have very open communication throughout the organization, and really care about how the workers feel working every day. Morale is extremely high, especially due in part to the Employee Committee. This group of dedicated individuals...

    Cons

The only downside for me, personally, is my long commute every morning. I travel from the south suburbs of Chicago and it's about 45 minutes to an hour each way. However, that being said, being able to get past the long commute should show how much working for COTG makes up for that.

    Advice to Management

Keep true to the culture and ideals that you have already set. No matter the changes that may come from a higher power.

I worked at COTG full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

This was a great place to work, it was one big family. Loved the employee committee and the office participation for Halloween and Christmas decorating. Going to work everyday wasn’t an challenge or a dread. Management is great and easy to work with.

    Cons

Aside from being affiliated with Xerox and having HCL come in, there were no cons to speak of.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing.

I worked at COTG full-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

They are very flexible and provide extensive training to have their employees feel comfortable and well prepared to do their job efficiently

      Cons

Health insurance is really bad. I had to get a separate insurance outside since theirs is very expensive.

I worked at COTG full-time for more than 4 years

      Pros

This WAS such a wonderful place to work - it is all over now because all of the jobs are being OUTSOURCED TO INDIA by HCL. There is nothing positive about this place to report any longer and that is why so many people like me left for other companies.

      Cons

Where to start? HCL and Xerox management lying to us for months when we all know our jobs were being outsourced to India. Benefits were terrible. 401K match slashed, then changed to avoid them making any contributions to employees at all for 2019. Merit increases FROZEN. Everyone jumping ship leaving more work for the poor people who remain. Morale at an all time low- the environment that was once wonderful...

      Advice to Management

No advice to management. It is a lost cause and we all knew it. Advice to potential employees looking to join what used to be COTG as a temporary HCL employee: DONT DO IT! Find a job somewhere better like a slaughterhouse or a baby diaper cleaning factory. It is really that bad there now. Used to be the BEST PLACE TO WORK and now it is the exact opposite. SHAME ON HCL AND XRX FOR DOING THIS to COTG! and...

I worked at COTG full-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

A good work environment at most times. Very engaged in employee events for all seasons.

      Cons

Sales process is stuck in the 1980s and management is minimally supportive for success. To be fair, this is an industry wide problem not just here. Xerox financial difficulties are severely impacting the ability to change.

      Advice to Management

Embrace new communication style and develop training to penetrate accounts.

I worked at COTG full-time for more than 4 years

      Pros

Most of the people here are seemingly nice.

      Cons

Just about everything else. Benefit suck, raises suck, hr cant help because they have no idea what they are doing. Promise raises / bonuses but do not deliver. Your raises are not based on work performance what so ever. Micromanagement from management team. Will watch you work but won't lift a finger to help.

      Advice to Management

Pay your employees more and Better benefits. That is the only reason people get these corporate jobs. HR team that knows what they are doing would be nice as well. It is sad that someone can quit a job at COTG and make more money within 6 months starting a business from nothing working for themselves. I did. Dont waste your time at a place like I did.

      Pros

There WERE some good years and some GREAT people there.

      Cons

Everything about this company changed once the new president took over (before the consolidations from Xerox). Promotions of under experienced "boys club," verbal abuse of VP's and Directors, and flat out lies and bombastic behavior has been the culture for the past 3 years. It's an extremely toxic environment, with a clown show running the place. All the employees know that the committees and events are put on to...

      Advice to Management

Clean house Xerox. Honestly the best thing that could happen is a full investigation with a survey of the staff of the practices of the leadership. Then (since headcount reduction is already in full swing) - take out the garbage. The company will benefit more from a new, more professional executive group.

      I worked at COTG full-time

      Pros

Some great employees in the Bolingbrook office who support the business. Some fun holiday philanthropic events.

      Cons

Gossip fest all day every day. Get in with the in crowd, which you won’t want too, or you don’t have a chance from day one. Upper management is as fake as you can get, and will verbally abuse you. When revenue goals aren’t hit, which they never are, the misses are made up in layoffs, and price increases to customers. People are promoted based off of who likes them, rather than merit. Performance plans are handed...
