I have been working at CPA Australia full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people - the vast majority are really great to work with.
Flexibility is good, but this is dependent on your team/manager.

    Cons

Adaptability is very slow, there are a lot of old heads that are incredibly resistant to change.
The current structure is crazy, though note it is under a restructure with new CEO.

    Advice to Management

Empower teams and individuals to drive change, remove roadblocks and implement consistent policies.

    Pros

Good salary and compensation. Friendly and professional coworkers, decent and nice workplace.

    Cons

Not much promotion space and innovation.

    Advice to Management

Explore the market rather than staring at Australia only. Be open-minded and innovative.

I worked at CPA Australia full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some very passionate people; certain teams are great to work with like Business Development; some of the staff benefits are good like the discounts at the CPA owned cafe in the foyer.

    Cons

Extremely limited career development with many managers with the view of you "needing to do your time" before they'll invest in you or consider you for another role even if you have the required qualifications/experience; internal progression is almost unheard of; limited personal development unless you are friends with the right people; low salaries (communicated including super to make them seem larger than they are); ageist and sexist environment; fears about job security due to recent issues in the media around Alex Malley and his salary (no commincation internally, staff know nothing); complaints/bullying swept under the rug (the managers side is always taken, and then people are managed out); limited recognition of effort unless you are friends with the top.

    Advice to Management

Hopefully new leadership sorts this place out. It has the potential to be great, but it needs the right people, and it needs to invest in people. Also needs to be prepared to innovate and ditch the 'old school' accountant stereotype.

I worked at CPA Australia full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Some useful professional development opportunities

    Cons

CEO totally destroyed the culture of the organisation which had been improved with continual work across the organisation, he filled the organisation with his own friends or former colleagues s who would act as yes people, don't dare question the CEO (even if relevant)

    Advice to Management

Think about the organisation and its purpose, and the fact you are spending members money, all it seems., to benefit yourselves.

    Pros

The job was so easy and well paid as long as you grovelled to the worlds greatest CEO according to the same CEO

    Cons

It's draining having to listed to the rubbish they go on with. .they ate all having a giant laugh with their members money

    Advice to Management
