I worked at CPL Resources full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent training is provided on almost any aspect of recruitment
If you work hard and pay attention, you will learn a lot very quickly.
The potential to earn a lot of money is there from the start.

    Cons

    No benefits at all
Changeable environment - changes are implemented without warning
Management are focused on short term profit rather than long term candidate retention.
Insane drinking culture. Very hard for people trying to cut down.

I worked at CPL Resources full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Well you can sit on your a.s and do nothing all day. Maybe indulge in some toxic gossip with very average crowd?

    Cons

    Ridiculous salary
Extremely weak middle management - you can't really notice if they are at work or on holidays

    Advice to Management

Leave. This company is filled with politics, unfair promotions, people without experience getting higher positions due to being colleagues of others, unfair treatment, lack of equality. Management is bad and HR is non existent. People who are being employed shouldn't be working here.

I have been working at CPL Resources full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Excellent team environment and spirit.
No limit on reaping the rewards from effort put into work.
Huge encouragement for someone coming in with no recruitment experience.
Excellent training for newcomers and continued training as you progress in your career in Cpl.
Endless opportunities to work with fantastic clients.
Opportunities to gain more responsibilities with success.

I came in from a background in a completely different industry - I had two years of professional experience but no idea how to recruit. I couldn't recommend Cpl as a company to work for any more - the encouragement, management support and opportunity for progression is endless. Any success in Cpl is always highlighted and all employees are recognised for their work - there is always a great atmosphere and buzz around the office.

    Cons

It is tough work and there can be let-downs but if you have a positive attitude and resilience, a career in recruitment will work for you.

    Advice to Management

Keep encouraging new consultants particularly with no experience to remain resilient and positive about a career in recruitment especially in their first 6 months.

    Cons

Ample opportunity and career development available

    Pros

Good way in. But that is about it. Most people leave quite fast to another opportunities.

    Cons

A lot of screaming from team leaders to go auto in. And I mean that not in a way that people don`t do it. But they scream constantly none the less.

    Advice to Management

Try to form a team, not just abuse the same people that say yes when asked over and over.

I have been working at CPL Resources full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good social life within the company, if fees are high it is a good atmosphere. Little to no business development if your in a good team.

    Cons

The pressure on staff is too high, the job can get very tedious and boring. Staff are pressurised to work outside of hours with no compensation/ time off in lieu (I have been forced to stay on occasion).

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good social area - stop promoting top billers to people managers without accessing them properly. Have more of an open door policy (i.e. I have been dealing with competing agencies to speak about other roles, as we cannot do this confidentially internally.) grow out the group sales team more - all staff hate business development and therefore end up procrastinating instead of working allot of the time.

I worked at CPL Resources full-time

    Pros

Great opportunity for someone looking to find their feet in the career world.
The team are close knit as well as most teams in Merrion Square.
    Training is very good too.

    Cons

Team manager has little to no communication with her team. Always out of the office on holidays. Very little support for her team. Manager has no transparency, whispers about colleagues in office, yet team are too scared to say anything to anyone.
Basic pay is very low and not fairly given. The excuse has always been that you can make it up in commission. Yet the basic salary for a recruitment consultant is €27k basic. They are paying way less in the language team.

    Advice to Management

There is always such a bubbly vibe in each team. It would be nice to see management following the unique culture code set in the office. Since the last team lead left, noone has followed the culture code.
Facilities in the language building are not good. Not enough basic needs met. (Not enough nives and forks, no where for everyone to sit for lunch, no air vents, not even a fire exit inase of emergencies, toilets rarely work properly, always getting clogged.)
