    Pros

Lots of different investment groups which means multiple initiatives that are undertaken; great opportunity to learn about various groups; brand recognition, work / life balance; benefits

    Cons

Nicknamed the "chinese pension plan" and I saw this first hand - the ops and admin team is 80-90% asian; firm doesn't fire bad managers which results in dissent and frustration for team; people are not friendly and generally cold unless they know you (could be because of first reason) - no one says hi to you in the elevators nor is there any eye contact; difficult to move around to different groups in the firm although they encourage it

    Advice to Management

make it clear to employees how to move around to different teams and groups; have more social events so employees can get to know each other and not be isolated from one another; diversify the groups; fire bad managers ESPECIALLY if you are seeing HIGH TURNOVER on their teams

Growing platform that can only go up from where it is right now. Reputation is strong and steadily growing

    Cons

Company is expanding quite a bit which may result in an increase in bureaucracy and a lack of organisation and structure.

    Pros

    Great people to work with
    Good compensation and benefits

    Cons

Not a great place for honesty, in a couple departments. They don't practice what they preach in integrity. Very difficult to move up.

    Advice to Management

    Practice what you preach.

I worked at CPP Investment Board (Less than a year)

    Pros

Really strong team collaboration. All members of the team were always involved and the team was engaging overall. Work was also meaningful. Flexible hours (for a financial firm).

    Cons

Restrictions on interns made starting and the initial learning curve more difficult.

    Advice to Management

Place less restrictions on interns so that they can do more and contribute even more meaningfully.

    Pros

IT department is slowly getting around to using the latest technologies, including Python, AngularJS, and big data.

    Cons

Co-development process with business dept is unfair towards IT. Business management invents unrealistic deadlines leading to poor implementation results (frequent issues, heavy support overhead, etc). When the system eventually needs to be overhauled only IT will be blamed. If you want fair collaboration with business look elsewhere.
