    C.R. England Review

    Pros

Great group of employees that work together and help new employees learn. They work hard, but it's also a fun environment where achievements are recognized. Veterans are honored. Opportunity to earn monthly bonus! This company really cares about the drivers and every day I have an opportunity to make a positive impact.

    Cons

The starting benefits are a little low, but overall its comparable.

Good for a entry level job to get your foot into the industry...

    Pros

If you don't have any experience in the transportation industry, you'll be able to get your foot in the door and get a good start. My co-workers were great to work with. My direct supervisor was always on top of her game and supported me. They offer health insurance and 401K the minute you start working there, there is no waiting period. Technology is up to date. Office is clean. Convenience store and cafeteria downstairs so you won't have a drive anywhere to grab a bite to eat or a drink.

    Cons

Where to start? Definitely more cons than pros at this place. Trucking is hard enough as it is, right? Instead of streamlining and sticking to the basics, they complicate every part of the job. Constant knee-jerk reaction/crisis management coming straight from the senior executives trickling all the way down to the front line staff. I'm still not able to understand how CRE turns a profit with how disorganized the company is. Everyone is under so much pressure to perform 100 percent all the time that the drivers feel the burden. Multiple layoffs over the past few years along with executive management/middle management changes. Tenured employees are pressured to leave/retire. A lot of quality employees have left to find employment elsewhere.

    Great place to work

    Pros

People in the office want you to succeed. The trainers help you out every step of the way. Either of the people tell you that you are worth it and to not give up!

    Cons

Lack of communication between employee and instructors. Driving managers need to keep their drivers up to date on their trucks and when they can leave.

Still in training but this company seems very transparent.

    Pros

You'll get a cdl fast. Good money if you lease a truck but the only good things I've heard from company solo drivers came from questionable sources. 25cpm from one source that was happy to make that saying he never worked more than 45 hours a week. He said he brought home almost $500/week with a proud smile which is about what I make in training.

    Cons

Trainers are delivering loads to clients and usually don't care about your education. You don't really learn that much driving forward in 8th gear for hours. The pay sucks at first, 9.25/hr for phase 1, 10.25/hr for phase 2. Overtime and holidays do not exist here of course unless you work in an office so I find it hard to want to run out my 70 hour clock during this time. You're pretty much stuck driving team unless you're content making an income you don't need a cdl for.

    Uphill to slaughter house……

    Pros

Good to get in and learn what you can.

    Cons

Recruiters sell you the dream of smooth sailing. Once your in school the training is piled all in one and the class size is over bearing because not everyone gets to practice driving on a few trucks that are running and not being taking away from us to get fueled or broken down for repairs. The mentor phase ran smooth but after your phase two there’s no concern other then if the loads get to there destination. Very poor communication with there drivers that’s on the road by themselves for the first time . You will be ignored and not answered. Home time isn’t promised when requested.

    Fresh out of school

Jul 25, 2016 - Retired Military, College Grad in Salt Lake City, UT

    Pros

This company is quite professional. It honors veterans and supports drivers. The school is rigorous and challenging if you want to do well. You must use your own initiative to study and practice the extra hours to really succeed. Those who failed (roughly a third) either didn't put in the extra work or couldn't pass physical or administrative screenings. It helps a lot to already be familiar with double clutching and pre-trip inspections. Every indication so far tells me this is a top notch company with very safe drivers. I feel like I'm now a member of a pretty elite company.

    Cons

Nothing drastic. Its a school pipeline that processes hundreds/thousands of new drivers so minor delays occur occasionally - no big deal if you are focused on becoming a professional driver making 50k or more.

    Pros

Easy to get in, they will drive you out there, and sponsor your license on loan.

    Cons

They make more money charging their drivers for fees and interest than they do from delivery. Don't buy anything!!! It's like working for the mafia, but without any honor.

    Pros

CR is Driver oriented. Run and owned by drivers Pay is competitive with other companies. Benefits are excellent.

    Cons

As a driver I can not list any cons. The trucking industry has its own. Being a driver is not for everyone.
