I worked at CRGT (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The money is good as long as ...

    Cons

You don't mind zero development opportunities. You are hired to be one thing so be that thing or you are not useful. There are very little to no opportunities outside of your contract no matter how long you have worked for CRGT. You are expendable.

    Advice to Management

Focus on culture and be loyal to your employees.

    Pros

I can't think of any noteworthy pros

    Cons

Horrible communication by management, acquisitions are never fully complete so everyone is left confused and without direction. Low pay, little room for advancement

I worked at CRGT full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Try hard to make sure that people can do different kinds of work, small teams mean lots of autonomy and opportunity to learn

    Cons

Satellite sites can feel disconnected from the company, can be difficult to advance without someone leaving

    Advice to Management

Connect more with the folks outside of the main office, be more aware of current salary trends in order to help retention

I have been working at CRGT full-time

    Pros

-Eager to hire you if you fit their needs
-Actually reads your resume and will contact you if you fit a different role than the one you applied for
    -Adequate salary
-They know they have a retention problem and are trying to make changes to fix it

    Cons

-Will sacrifice your needs or you to satisfy the client
-Hires you contingent on client approval so you may sign an offer letter and then wait around unpaid for a month with little to no contact from anyone.
-No separate sick leave pool, you have to take it out of your skimpy vacation time
-Retirement match is low (half of your contribution to a maximum match of 3%) and vests in 20% increments over 5 years
-Once HR has what they need to get you in and start billing the client, the rest of the onboarding process is a shambles
-The changes they are making to boost retention don't address the key problems of poor benefits and lack of top-level or back office support for rank and file staff
-Few opportunities for growth in the company, if any

    Advice to Management

Create an actual onboarding process and pay new hires when they are ready to start so you can get all the new hire paperwork sorted out instead of tossing them into the client site and expecting them to have time to get their benefits in order.

Fight for your employees when the client tries to shaft them, or at least find some way to show them that you tried. Merely relaying bad news without comment makes it seem like employee needs don't matter at all.

    I worked at CRGT full-time

    Pros

Decent health, 401k. They're able to keep their contracts (probably because they're cheap for clients).

    Cons

Salary is not that great. Managers say they're going to give you opportunities, but they don't. They say they're going to increase your salary by a large amount, they don't. Maybe upper level positions get this treatment, but it doesn't trickle down.

    Advice to Management

Don't make bs promises you're not going to keep. Or don't get our hopes up.

    I worked at CRGT full-time

    Pros

CRGT had some well-respected industry experts that were a great source of knowledge. Physical working conditions were comfortable.

    Cons

Most of the CRGT crew are gone, and the company to follow now is Salient. They seem to be very characteristically similar.

    Advice to Management

Recognize those who are actually making the wheels turn and trying to push the company toward success through actions.

I worked at CRGT (More than 3 years)

    Pros

For the most part they did a good job of fleshing out the requirements for development. Agile development was run ok for the most part.

    Cons

Nearly everyone there was from east india, and I did have a problem understanding some of them. Seating arrangements were quite tight as I had a person sitting on my right and left in a 'pit' so to speak, and I felt I didnt have any personal space.

    Pros

    good benefits and retirement package

    Cons

slow to keep salaries competitive. no performance reviews. no raises

    Advice to Management

you're losing good people to other contracting companies because there is no opportunity for merit and/or cost of living raises.

    Pros

Great work environment. Regular, reasonable hours. Solid pay.

    Cons

Poor time off. Uncertain long-term outlook. Company is undergoing a merger. Local low-level management can be uneven. Anywhere between boss of the year and outright psychotic.
