I have been working at CRTS full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

They have decent benefits. There are a lot of opportunities to learn different skills than the specific ones that you were hired for. They hire veterans.

    Cons

It can be chaotic at times. Switching tasks quickly can leave you confused and frustrated. The deadlines often seem impossible. Hectic schedules.

    Advice to Management

    Better time management is needed.

I have been working at CRTS full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

CRTS is a great place to gain experience and knowledge in engineering applications. I have gained a great deal of experience in desktop application development, electronic control systems, system automation, network communications, and electro-mechanical systems. This has been a great place to work for as a first job out of school.
    Great benefits.

    Cons

The company does a lot of work in the middle east (primarily Saudi Arabia). There is about 30% travel involved in the work. The travel can be exciting at first, but if you're like me, this gets old very quickly.
There is very poor communication between the sales team and the project managers. This causes many projects to be rushed and require extra hours. For hourly workers, the overtime can be nice, but there is a point (60+ hour weeks) where it doesn't seem worth it.
The pay is not competitive for the industry.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to stop allowing sales personnel to set time frames without discussing it with the engineering department. The engineering team should not have to suffer through 60+ hour weeks in order to get a project out the door.

I worked at CRTS (Less than a year)

    Pros

When jobs did open which when I was there, they didn't. Once jobs became available, it was sun up to sun down.

    Cons

Long waiting periods between field jobs.

I have been working at CRTS full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great people at HQ minus a couple bad eggs. Sick leave is great. I can see the potential of the company to be really great; just not quite there yet.

    Cons

Under staffed creating poor quality and friction within the company. Need corporate to build a structure or to get out of the way; the in between stop gaps are useless.

    Advice to Management

Training needed everywhere especially in the field. Corporate needs to understand how R&D heavy we are and budget accordingly.

    Pros

Each division head is afforded the opportunity to manage their division as they see fit, the environment is relaxed, and the staff members are paid weekly.

    Cons

Management is not abreast of current best practices, does not keep current on changing HR rules/laws, is derogatory to women in general.

    Advice to Management

Offer a career path of office staff.
