I worked at CSA Group full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    The benefits are very good.

    Cons

There is an extreme amount of nepotism in management. A lot of the manager's only qualifications seem to be family relationships with senior management. There appear to be two separate codes of conduct for Canadian vs American workers. It is painfully clear that CSA is a Canadian Company, Canadians are NOT held to the same standard as Americans. Overall a lot of Nepotism a fair amount of Sexism and Racism and... a huge amount of discrimination based on national origin.

    Advice to Management

It is painfully clear that many mid-level managers are only in their positions due to relationships with senior managers. These people need to be removed.

I have been working at CSA Group full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

You won't get this culture anywhere else. I have been here for a quite a few years. People and managers are amazing. People don't leave this company.

    Cons

Growth opportunities are limited and performance are not assessed properly. People get too comfortable here which is hard for younger crowd to for see as a future. Below average salary in comparison to industry. Orthodox higher management. Common team level assessment so doesn't matter how hard you work or average you get what everyone gets it as a reward, no thrives.

    Advice to Management

Assess individual based on performance and reward according.

I worked at CSA Group full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Work/life balance. Working conditions are nice. Colleagues were good to work with. Making a difference in the safety of products available to the general public.

    Cons

Inadequate training. Poor communication. Not given the appropriate tools to do your job properly. Strained relations between Operations and Sales.

    Advice to Management

Work with your people more and listen to what they have to say. Don't just eliminate people or positions without regard for the people themselves. Many times there are circumstances outside their control to do their job properly.
