    Pros

    Good people and when I first came in good company. Hired in at a good rate. I was given good training and allowed to grow into the job.

    Cons

    Merger with HPE has caused salary and wage freezes and lay offs. I was promoted 6 months abo but have not received my promotion raise

    I have been working at CSC full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Initially, I was hired to assist users who speak Italian and French.

    Cons

    Now, they do not seem to need language assistance any longer. In the meantime, the employee benefit are shrinking slowly that we get any vacation time accrued any more. The possibility to work from home is becoming unattainable.

    Advice to Management

    to put employee first. Let employees voice heard.

    I worked at CSC full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    The veteran techs are great, taught me a good bit about some older systems that are still in use by many companies.

    Cons

    Mostly contractors, difficult to get on with the company.
    Turnover is extraordinarily high. After 3 months I was the only one left of the people that started with me (~20)
    I was told certifications and education were required (A+, Network+, ITIL Foundation, etc.) which I have, but there was a good number of contractors that obviously had no idea what they were doing. They either lied about the certs, or management made an exception.....
    Had to ask permission to use the restroom...
    "Planning Unit" decided when you could take a break, when you ate lunch, etc. sometimes changed their mind mid day, so you got yelled at for taking a break at the wrong time when they switched up your schedule....

    Advice to Management

    If you want better candidates and reduce turnover do the following:
    -Give compensation and benefits that attract higher caliber candidates
    -No exceptions, if you require a certain knowledge base, then make sure the candidates are certified/educated, actually run the cert ID#s

    Pros

    Independent work environment
    Their internal policies are not condusive to maintaining great relationships with clientle. Things are based politically and the good ol boy network; rather than on the best job is needed here.

    Cons

    salary on lower side
    no proper training for changes to policy and procedures
    still working on old age technology's
    Negative work life balance
    Management constantly bullying agents with message blast.
    Trainers are unavailalble

    Advice to Management

    Update ticket software system.
    Hire more technicians instead of forced overtime.

    Pros

    Layoffs, no raise in 2 years, horrible benefits. Moving buildings, management always in a flux. Bathroom issues in the building. No cell phone coverage in the building, but they want you to be oncall.

    Cons

    Coworkers are very nice, that is about it.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to the employees, stop laying off talent and people who want to stay at the company. Stop being CHEAP!

    Pros

    Great Moral! Superb work and family life balance! There's plenty of opportunity to learn. The company has tuition reimbursement

    Cons

    Career growth is a bit tricky with this company but still a great place to work

    Pros

    Most of your co-workers are genuinely good people.
    The pay is (was at least when I was hired) better than other places.

    Cons

    The driving principal at the company seems to be CYA. people who take responsibly don't seem to stay long term.
    Management seems incapable of decision making; the decision always comes from another department or somebody higher up in some other building.
    Human Resources? that's an 800 number for you to call during normal business hours.
    They seem to feel that requiring 5-10 hours of overtime every week from the entire team (of about 20 people on my team) equates to not only adequately staffed but time for a Reduction in Workforce, Apparently there wasn't enough work for us even though we were constantly being required to work 'extra.'

    Advice to Management

    Focus on running a successful business, rather than the stock prices.
    Those people who never accomplish anything but can always find somebody else to blame when things are messed up? focus on the first part, why are they still there if they never accomplish anything.

    Once you are hired, the job status stays pretty consistent.

    Cons

    Computer Sciences are a reactionary company, they react to problems that come up rather than take pro-action.

    Pros

    You will meet many stellar people here with excellent skills and potential.

    Cons

    The office culture is one of chaotic management with frantic emails and memos going out every day changing policies and them switching them right back when it is found that the new policy was ill thought out, only to have another manager veto it and institute another ill-planned band-aid policy or procedure.

    Massive work load and unrealistic expectations lead to a very high turn-over rate.

    Advice to Management

    Take the time to consider how to change things and more importantly why they are being changed. Actually talk to the people who implement and support this process and get their input beforehand, they will often be able to show you the pitfalls before you leap into them.

    Consider treating your employees more humanely.

    Stop threatening an entire help desk in an email or chat over the actions of one analyst - especially when a little research (the recorded phone logs and service orders) will prove the analyst was the one in the right and the customer was making a false accusation.
