I worked at CSC full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Coworkers - mostly top notch personnel Salary ranges - DC rates for even mid-west personnel if you negotiated correctly Work - meaningful with the right client; impacted some lives directly with results...that's not a common thing.

    Cons

Overarching company direction. 2015/16 were tricky from a reorg perspective with CSRA to now DXC.tech today.

I worked at CSC full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    Great peers to work with.

    Cons

Work-life balance, benefits, compensation. Not a people oriented company; run by finance and HR. Changed the termination benefit from one week per year with the company in October to a maximum of eight weeks and then laid off people 60+ the following February.

    Advice to Management

People are your assets; take better care of them. Especially the people that have been with the company and have experience.

    I worked at CSC full-time

    Pros

Middle management was great, empowering, caring and typically has your back. Positive is if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere.

    Cons

The process at CSC is rigorous and daunting. The level of documentation and process steps are very lengthy. Yet much of the time it's due to being CMMI compliant. Little training, they have eliminated mentors so you are on your own to learn. If you're a seasoned technical professional you should be fine. You will hone your skills when it comes to process though.

    Advice to Management

Upper management needs to treat people like people. Set your employees up to succeed instead of fail, ensure you're creating / negotiating contracts to provide the funds your people need to provide good customer services to clients.

I worked at CSC full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Big company, good place for advancement. I was able to work on multiple accounts in positions that held my interest and were challenging.

    Cons

Many times all CSC cared about was getting a warm body so they could bill. That would be great but some of your co-workers are horrible and caused more work.

I worked at CSC full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Decent salary but get it up front because no raises or bonuses or promotions

    Cons

No care for the employees unless your billable, terrible benefits, forced vacation. If you finish a project you better hope you have another one or you are gone. The only focus is the return for investors and with no new work the only way to show growth was through lay offs

    Advice to Management

Your people are your product and you wouldnt treat your computer as bad
