I have been working at CSC full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The fact that many, if not most, of the employees in my area work remote, cuts down on many of the negative aspects of working in a corporate environment.

    Cons

The company has struggled in recent years and is continuing to make significant transitions to better position itself. While these efforts are seemingly working, the unfortunate side-effect has been that the employees are dealing with a great deal of continued uncertainty.

    Pros

Days go by fast due to high volume of work and telecommuting option.

    Cons

Stressful work environment, no pay increases or bonus. Company does not care about core employees only concerned about the bottom line, Revenue. A champion of offshoring.

    Pros

    it is a job

    Cons

No life work balance. You are just a body at the desk. No raises. no respect for the work that you do. You can be replaced at any moment. cost of living goes up but not your salary. even the price in the soda machine goes up but not your rate of pay

    Advice to Management

review the clear values and have some concern/compassion for the people that work under you

I worked at CSC full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The people I worked with were great. Great teamwork and focus on the customer.

    Cons

Executive management manages cost by cutting jobs instead of addressing root causes of revenue shortfalls and high operating expenses. No work-life balance. No raises for the last 4 years, in spite of glowing performance appraisals. Performance ratings are artificially set to avoid having to give raises and meet quotas.

    Advice to Management

Replace executive management with problem solvers instead of hatchet men.

I have been working at CSC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent work life balance, has a work from home program if you management likes it and trust employees to use it can be very helpful but in most cases not management frown upon employees using it.

    Cons

Internal technology and management are stuck in the 1960s. Corporate culture is not really one of innovation or change. Management really needs to better about the direction of the company and improving internal technology. All manager are from outside no room for growth. They do just about everything in Excel.

    Advice to Management

The corporate culture starts at the top and with management that does not embrace the century we live this company will continue to lag behind as top talent will work somewhere else.
