I have been working at CSC full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Very Professional Coworkers; Paid vacation time is on an "as requested" basis which can be pretty good if you're just starting out... with "No Limit" supposedly. Lots of positions will allow you to work independently.

    Cons

Management seems to be chasing short term cost reductions to impress stockholders or obtain bonuses. Those cost reductions which are mostly obtained with "Staffi" reductions" are so they can fill those same positions with cheaper offshore or nearshore labor. Hard to keep positive when you're are always looking over your shoulder.

    Advice to Management

Don't always assume you can find the skills you really need with offshore/nearshore personnel.

    Pros

Its a small family own business so they care about there employees.

    Cons

There isn't much room for growth in the company only because of the company being small and family owned.

I worked at CSC full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Wonder hard working people with benefits at the time I worked there.

    Cons

Make you work mandatory 45 plus hours week as exempt employee with comp time you never get to use. Hr office protect company not employee. After 40 yrs of blood, sweat and dedication toward winning thousands of contracts was laid off and only paid for vacation time and one month severance! Really sucked after all the time worked to help company gain revenue.

    Advice to Management

Be decent and pay all the employees laid off the severance you owe them, the law should not protect you for robbing employees who had dedicated their lives to crooks! Shame on CSC.

    Pros

There are some great mid-level managers who genuinely care about professional development.

    Cons

This is a huge company, and individuals are treated as a cog in the machine. When I was there, the annual review process took months to undertake and at the end, you were reviewed by a panel that never spoke to you as an employee - you had a "coach" who would represent you at this panel. I had a great coach... but some of my colleagues had coaches with 5+ coachees and barely took the time to get to know the individual, let alone have the ability to adequately endorse them for a promotion or raise. Several of my colleagues didn't even get a COL pay increase after years of employment.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to start caring more about employees and less about profits.

I have been working at CSC full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Days go by fast due to high volume of work and telecommuting option.

    Cons

Stressful work environment, no pay increases or bonus. Company does not care about core employees only concerned about the bottom line, Revenue. A champion of offshoring.

    Advice to Management

    Care more for you employees
