I worked at CSC full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are some good people still there, but the general culture is grim and makes it difficult to work effectively as a team. I would never recommend.

    Cons

No raises or bonus or promotions available regardless of position or performance rating. Hasn't happened for anyone in over 3 yrs. Horrible open workspace promotes negativity and rude behavior.

    Advice to Management

They don't care about any messages of advice, everything is done to make them richer faster. They disgust me.

I worked at CSC full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Education reimbursement
    Many work from home opportunities.
One of the last places that still does traditional ITO
    Still a global company

    Cons

Executive team changes monthly with the exception of the CEO and handful of other top executives
Pay is competitive when you start
Raises are consistently canceled for everyone but the top executives (who reward themselves with millions of dollars)
    Forget about bonuses
The company doesn't appear able to grow so acquisition and mergers are always going on

    Advice to Management

Start thinking about paying someone besides yourselves

I worked at CSC (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Employees were a close knit group. Still friends with a few of the former employees. Socialize outside of work

    Cons

There was not enough employee training. There should have been classroom, hands on training to keep employees up to date with new technology and systems

    Advice to Management

There should be quarterly training sessions to keep employees competitive in the workforce.

    Pros

    Cons

Line management do not really appreciate effort and threats of redundancy are regularly used as leverage to increase productivity. Travelling expenses are capped low.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your staff and take on board what they are telling you when your enforced policies are detrimental.

I have been working at CSC full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Lots of different accounts, support full-time telecommuting on some accounts. Pretty good health plan. Too many Indians.

    Cons

Never gives raises, no promotion path for software engineers, cheaps out on everything, recently announced end of earned vacation time (take what you want... if it is approved by manager), now they don't want to pay for a sh|tty flip phone for full time telecommuters, and they NEVER pay network fees either.

    Advice to Management

Learn to value and reward the high output employees. Learn to reward hard work with MARKET-MATCHED pay!
