I worked at CST Brands full-time

    Pros

Uniforms were a nice shade of blue.

    Cons

Too much work with too few hours. They didn't start talking or caring about Life balance until AFTER the government changed the law. Before that day it was you worked as many hours as it took and they didn't care because you were salaried. Limited opportunity for advancement. After the law changed and managers could get overtime THEN they cared about your hours and all of the sudden it was 45 and not a minute more. For promotions they conducted "fake interviews" where they choose who they want to promote and go through the motions with interviews that in the end are meaningless. Talked about servant leadership but aside from printing it on t-shirts and mission statements did nothing to actual implement such a program. According to a letter from Engine Capital they spent too much on executive salaries.

    Advice to Management

Now that Circle K owns the company perhaps they will make a better show of it.

    Pros

Pay, benefit and opportunities for advancement when you work hard. The job can be rewarding if you put the effort in that deserves the reward. They do like to promote from within.

    Cons

24/7 availability/ not much positive reinforcement. The negative aspects of the job are harped on but there is not a whole lot of recognition for the good things that happen

    Advice to Management

    Positive reinforcement
