It's Management vs. the Employees
Apr 11, 2014 - Anonymous Employee in Fort Worth, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The company does a lot of good for the Credit Union industry. We have helped support a lot of struggling institutions, and frequently provide very good customer service. The company also has very good benefits and retirement/pension options.
Cons
Stuck in the past. There are a lot of egos in the management level. People are not willing to admit to mistakes, and in the past year, the culture has eroded completely. Several people have left or been forced to leave due to vendettas. Sr. management is not willing to admit that the team leaders hired are a toxic element in the company.

Inconsistent culture and management practices

Work from home. good health benefits
Cons
Poor management practices and support, passive-aggressive sub-cultures, inept employee relations personnel, no job training. Upper management is disconnected from the people who actually do the job.

Great place to work if you love being a set of statistics instead of a person.

The benefits and time off are good.
Cons
Management has no connection with employees. Most communication is done via email ranking employees on a number of different stats and figures. The humanity of the workplace has been sacrificed for profits.

Pros
Overall benefits are good! People are great! Company invests in employees' development and growth and gives back in community. Many training and development opportunities. Great corporate cultures! Great work and life balance.
Cons
Cannot think of anything bad. Maybe sometimes your experience really depends on if you have a good manager. Also it would be nice if the salary is a bit higher.

Pros
They have good benefits available
Cons
The way performance is measured is questionable.
- Current Employee, more than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
-flexibility to move around within company -generally positive experience with managers -good employee benefits -good pay
Cons
-workplace culture can feel like a facade -not always the most deserving people get promotions -conflicts of interest between employees and managers
- Current Employee, more than 3 years★★★★★
Pros
Very good benefits; many different areas of business to apply your skills or learn new ones.
Cons
Too much Compliance killing sales and entrepreneurial spirit; huge disconnect between the top management of the company and “the trenches”. Too many mid-level managers. Bureaucracy rivals that of a government agency.
Continue readingThanks for sharing your thoughts. I agree with you completely: our people are our most valuable – and valued – asset. We’re working to create an environment where every employee feels empowered to share ideas, and perhaps more importantly, every leader is willing to listen. I’m curious to hear more about your concerns and I would welcome a conversation. Please do reach out to me directly for a confidential discussion about this. Linda Nedelcoff, SVP, HR

Still Drinking CUNA Kool-Aid - 2 Years In
Dec 13, 2018 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- They invest in the growth of their employees. They paid for my studies, exam, and license for life & health, SIE, and series 7 - Good health benefits compared to all but one company I have worked for - Care about work/life balance - Fun, upbeat atmosphere - Upper management is easy to contact - Many career growth opportunities - Pension & 401(k) match - 15 days vacation, 8 sick days right off the bat that can be used before earned - Stimulating work - Company growth
Cons
- Working at a credit union but for CUNA, you have to remember you are a guest there - Compensation is lower to start compared to industry
- Former Employee★★★★★
Pros
Good benefits as far as insurance and time off.
Cons
Pay on the lower end.
