I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Working with pharmacists, nurse practitioners, and techs, reminding you that caring for people is the most important part. Nothing over 50lbs to lift, closest is a pack of 6 gallon waters, 48lbs. Simple focus of customer first, then product stocking. If you can get that down quick, it’s all easy. Stocking, payroll, smile.

    Cons

No time to chat with Co-workers, repetitive tasking, and random hours depending on management at the time. There are no other cons that I have.

    Advice to Management

    Don’t overstock food department

I worked at CVS Health part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Discount and good work friends. The work was t horrible but definitely not the best job to have. Coupons were also a plus.

    Cons

Unfit manager, she was lazy and unorganized. company bought out too many insurance companies and to pay for them took hours from employees.

I worked at CVS Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Better pay compare to others but overwork. Though schedule is flexible, most full time employee gets an average of 32 hrs a week only.

    Cons

Most stores operate in minimum hours, meaning only 2 persons on a shift. Expectations are high but no help. Poor management. Everything is so wrong here.

    Advice to Management

Nothing to advise as they dnt listen anyway.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Focus customer service, benefits, growth, Paid holidays for full time employees, great customer base, very disappointed with internal advance within the company

    Cons

loyalty seems to get lost, advancement is judged only in virtual testing instead of loyalty and merit and your reviews over past 10,15,20 years and showing your ability to do your job provoke yourself even without proper training as they Throw you into situations

    Advice to Management

Advance your employees who have given you such loyalty and have taken ownership of every day every customer

I worked at CVS Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

ZERO, NOTHING, If you have an interview, seriously RUN Away! I did a 6 month MIT program and declined to go any further. They made my stomach upset!

    Cons

Ridiculous expectations, along with power-struggling (low paid) unhappy co-workers, & a corporate structure and/or strategy that isn't working, they're the "K-Mart" of their failing market. Plus multiple OSHA violations ignored (observed at all but 2 stores in Northwest region).

    Advice to Management

Bottom line is not going to win in your current industry's market economic change it's going through. Figure out if you want to be a pharmacy or a convenient store because your wasting resources trying to achieve both, and in turn will loose both to your current competition. I'd say go for pharmacy and expand your online services in that area.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pay is sufficient for the area, insurance is average

    Cons

Hours for payroll are minimal, Far too many interviews for the same position for different locations, management turnover is extremely high

    Advice to Management

Learn to appreciate your team and do what you say and say what you mean. Acknowledge the opportunities and challenges that your team may have and address the issues with the utmost respect.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I get paid a lot. Freedom to do what I want sometimes. Lots of physical activity. Employee discount is okay.

    Cons

Horrible work life balance, cashier's get paid poorly so it's impossible to find a good cashier. Field managers are pharmacist and never worked in the front store but still try to tell you how to do your job, extreme couponers, terrible training, no consistency in policies, I could go on and on

    Advice to Management

Learn what it means to work in the front store.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

You get days off on a regular basis.

    Cons

You never get raises, insurance gets worse every year, your lucky to get even 30 hours a week.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to make one person run the entire retail side of a store in one shift. Hire and pay who you need.

I worked at CVS Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

A constant stream of easy tasks under tight but reasonable deadlines if one stays focused, makes the day fly by. Cross-training to pharmacy or management fast-track paths are available to those with initiative.

    Cons

The occasional unreasonable customer or absurd district initiative can be difficult to overlook. Irregular hours and poor base pay make it difficult to retain quality workers.

    Advice to Management

Prepare budgets earlier and allocate hours based on basic requirements, then performance and projected growth, but leave a flex budget for unplanned resource drains.
