I have been working at CVS Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You don't have to worry about work outside of CVS. Work a two work rotating set schedule. Pay is okay. Benefits are average to slightly better.

    Cons

No tech help. No empowerment from management. I've worked over 6 months with out my supervisor calling to see how things were going. No acknowledgement for having good weeks. They only point out the bad numbers and what's not great. I go in early always and stay late typically to get things done.

    Advice to Management

Give more tech hours. Don't expect pharmacists to work for free and go in an hour early and then stay an hour or two late. Empower moving up in the company.

I worked at CVS Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

They usually had 40 hours with a shift that stayed the same. Discount card. They have a union. Good benefits. Alot of exercise.

    Cons

They acted like everything was to be done very fast and most of the others were sitting down. They have tests continually that are difficult.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

When I started working in the pharmacy, I leaned so many new things every day, and I'm still learning so many new things. It's been one of the most fulfilling jobs that I've had so far, and I know that I am playing an important in people's health. Also, the benefits of being in a union are very nice.

    Cons

It's still a big company, with a lot of policies and regulations that, while they were set in place to try and make our jobs easier, seem to make things more difficult.

    Advice to Management

Please, just don't try to fix what isn't broken. If things are working the way that they are - just leave them alone.

    Pros

Not many good reasons. Discount on products is about it.

    Cons

Scrappy pay and you work your butt off. Backstabbing, favoritism, false promises. Pay raises of 30 cents a year.

    Advice to Management

Take a look at your good employees and reward them.

    Pros

Loved working with some great people. Loved putting my skills to the test. Enjoyed my customers.

    Cons

If you as an employee are hurt on the job and file for workers compensation, as is your right; LP will make up an excuse to fire you. Even if it is over a 25 cent coupon. They will lie, they will fabricate, etc. They have no morals nor self respect when it comes to CVS's money.

I worked at CVS Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Helping customers find products they needed for conditions they didn't know that much about. Seeing repeat customers because they liked the staff.

    Cons

Not enough time to complete long list of tasks (in a busy store) so often had to stay over and work off the clock.

    Advice to Management

Care more about the customer than the amount of money the company takes in.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Helping people on a daily basis on their path to better health. People are normally not at their physical best when they come in and very customer, every visit is an opportunity to help them out.

    Cons

Some of the redundant practices that are repeated. However, every company has them and, by far, these not only pale in comparison to the rewards but are a minimal inconvenience.

    Advice to Management

Do not worry about applying to CVS Health if you are not ready to put the hard work in that will be required. While it is a satisfying career, it will take a dedication to hit the ground running everyday. You must possess motivation, dedication, merchandising skills, and the ability to adapt to systematical changes as well as day to day barriers and challenges.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Union store benefits are amazing.
Union stores get a yearly raise-as opposed to a "merit raise".
Union stores give you a union rep that is your advocate if needed.
Most stores are open from 8am to 9pm.
Employee discount-20% non cvs brand items and 30% cvs brand items.

    Cons

Overworked, extremely underpaid, used and abused sums it up. Now that CVS has purchased Target's pharmacies they are stripping their pharmacies of tech hours to save money.
Our supervisors/upper management have no idea who we are unless we have bad scores or haven't completed training.
Southern Ohio district is the worst of the worst. Pharmacy supervisor is very disrespectful and degrading. Not really sure how some management advanced to their current positions.
The morale is the lowest I have ever seen. We are no longer a community retail pharmacy encouraged to take care of our patients and treat them the way we would treat a family member. Our "care" is based on metrics and how many scripts we can fill with the least amount of staff as possible. It is NOT safe or right. It shouldn't be legal!

    Advice to Management

Upper management should be ashamed of themselves. The community retail pharmacies are making the upper management rich. Pharmacists and techs alike are burnt out. One can only hope that karma sorts this out. It has been said that since Larry Merlot became CEO the morale has declined significantly and I couldn't agree more. The metrics and scores are ALL that matters to management since Tom Ryan left.
