I have been working at CVS Health as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

The buildings are beautiful and the office space is very comfortable. Reasonable sized cubicles and access to supplies. The people are very friendly and open to helping each other out.

    Cons

Mostly independent work. You find yourself on your computer for long amounts of time but so does everyone else. On the bright side they do hold meetings every now and then so you can meet all of your co workers and also the cafeteria is great!

    Advice to Management

Be more open to newer more innovative ideas. There are ways to streamline current processes and I do not feel like we are performing at our top capacity due to certain technological set backs.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time

    Pros

The work environment heavily dependent on department and management chain.

    Cons

Too much management levels to do anything efficiently. Benefit package, including prescriptions, sub-par for a Fortune 10 company.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to employees.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Normal work hours, decent salary, big company. There's a cafeteria. Yearly bonus (although it's a small percentage). Comfortable chair. Free wifi

    Cons

No rapid movement, tedious & dull work, team members were not nice (not applicable to all of cvs), gossipy environment

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Many different areas to move to, and learn the entire business. Large enough where they have presence across the United States.

    Cons

Depending on your manager will depend on how appreciated you are at an organization. Some individuals who are rewarded for work that they did not complete.

    Advice to Management

The salaries need to be more competitive within the team. Individuals that are completing the same job should be making roughly, the same not a huge gap.

    Pros

stable company so job security for the most part is there. there is a good recognition program in place with rewards, but pretty dependent on your manager.

    Cons

advancement is tough as opportunity is more or less based on other people leaving their positions rather than promotion for performance and tenure

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Lot's of opportunity to grow, decent pay, diverse work environment, convenient location for commuting, good employee stock purchasing plan and 401k match, job stability

    Cons

Weak benefits, hard to advanced past a certain level without a masters degree, nepotism and favorites, no gym, some facilities are nice but many could use updating, being a "yes man" is seen as a positive thing

    Advice to Management

Don't put so much emphasis on the masters degree as real world experience is much much more valuable. The rampant nepotism needs to be addressed. As a healthcare company it would be great to have an actual onsite gym rather than small discounts to not so great gyms in the area.

    Pros

The cafeteria food is delicious and the people are delightful. This is the best part of working at CVS health

    Cons

Health insurance - you now pay out of pocket until you deductible. Hard to find a position that will pay when you have slot of experience with company. Positions lost due to outsourcing

I worked at CVS Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Job with short commute . Girls there are very beautiful . 20% off Rogaine . VP at Avaya becomes CTO of cvs and CVS buy Avaya phones . RI two step at its best. Active active data center means two people get called when the crap they put in fails . Let's not forget windows XP and nortel VPN. Oh and custom 10-20 year old cobalt programs on mainframes .

    Cons

How about a phone system 3-4 versions behind . A fortune 10 company with digital phones . Cannot even forward calls. They still run phone cables in corporate . Ever hear of VoIP ? We have active dialup credit card lines. You have to support Obama . Cvs stands to make a ton of money from obamacare apparently . Our standard server is crap but it's what our guys know so it must be the best right. Server still run 2003 windows . Office 2007 is latest . My laptop is 5-6 years old 4 gab ram and xp. Took 9 months to get desk . Took 6 months to get VPN access. Had claim refused because I did not goto clinic instead of doctor. Cvs hired company to review every claim . They call you and ask why you went to doctor and can deny a claim if they feel you should have gone to clinic apparently . Bonus are arbitrary. If your manager doesn't like you oh well . Managers and directors are not leaders and do what the top execs want . It's a puppet kingdom where you are darned either way . It's cya 24/7 . Decisions based on ego and archaic outdated ideas. Most senior managers are not technical . My cable modem is faster than the only data link connecting data centers . 150 billion company and they balk at spending 2,000,000 to upgrade store connectivity and security. A campus parking ticket for parking in visitor lot when going between. Buildings could cost you your bonus. It hen there is collection notices that have gone out to people when they are out sick or medical leave .

    Advice to Management

Find someone who has a clue . Your luck is running out . As systems fail ( cobalt and mainframes with custom code) a crash is inevitable .

I worked at CVS Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

10 to 20 percent employee discount
    PTO 15 days
    401 k plan
    Health insurance plan is ok
    Nothing more to say

    Cons

Worst management ever! Supply chain team just believes in politics. Everything is old school approach . No new technology. Super long working hours. Bad old systems to work on. IT support is laid back. Most people from DC and don't want to experiment with new tech ! No work from home. make you come to office even during the worst snow storm. They just don't care about employee . There is no good budgeting done on projects.Cvs has just got the name by default! Would not recommend anyone.

    Advice to Management

    Less politics please
