I have been working at CVS Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You'll never be without a job if you're willing to move / work.

    Cons

Many redundant metrics and tasks to complete daily.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on the customer not the numbers. Numbers can be manipulated, true patient care can't.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Retail pharmacy pros... pay is good, every other week is an extended weekend, days go by fast

    Cons

Micromanagement from above, tracking EVERY metric, unrealistic script budgets/goals, and recently, hemorrhaging of technician hours

I worked at CVS Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

High initial pay. CVS in Target locations typically lower volume.

    Cons

Essentially everything you've heard about retail and then some. Was told pay will never increase again. Technician hours cut in half in a 6 month period despite stable/increased script count. People terminated for a variety on unethical reasons. Cannot operate using professional judgment, all metric based. Have to schedule vacation over 1 year in advance.

I worked at CVS Health full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Easy to take short, 3-4 day vacations by switching shifts with partners

    Cons

    - 12 hour shifts with no break (2x/week)
    - There is not enough help and not enough hours-- even with Myschedule optimization (88%+)
    - Raise structure is unfair. Hardly anyone will get "exceeds expectations" and almost everyone will get "meets expectations". So a great performing pharmacy manager can end up with the same percentage raise as a floater pharmacist.
    - Management will keep employees in the dark about a lot of upcoming changes
    - insufficient training for technicians
    - No pay for weekly conference calls (always 30 min before shift starts)
    - No pay for manager meetings

    Advice to Management

    - Try to appreciate the staff more.
    - Also, don't gossip about the pharmacists on your team. Be professional and be above that.

I worked at CVS Health full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Paid well, Vacation time, Health Insurance

    Cons

Had to request vacation time extremely far in advance and may still be turned down, no breaks for lunch or anything else for that matter, often had uncertified/ under trained staff and still had to meet performance metrics, low budgeted hours for staffing

    Advice to Management

If you want to meet or emulate the service model of Chic-Fil-A then you must also VALUE the EMPLOYEE and provide properly trained staff and appropriate hours to accomplish it. FOCUS on VALUES of the Health profession and let the pharmacist be a PROFESSIONAL AGAIN.

I worked at CVS Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great teams and employees. The benefits are many.

    Cons

Not enough help in pharmacy and customers are treated way too much like numbers.

    Advice to Management

Learn to make 95 cents instead of a dollar to keep teams a LOT more happy. The lack of help in the pharmacy is very apparent.

    Pros

    Advice to Management

If you want things done, you can't just keep on understaffing the stores!
