I have been working at CVS Health part-time

    Pros

pay above minimum wage, easy register if you have previous cashiering experience, very flexible scheduling especially for college students

    Cons

biweekly pay, managers like to leave early sometimes when needed, kinda a boring job tbh. they'll schedule you for a 8-9 hour shift and only write one thing for you to do. youre bored for most of your shift and it sucks. and at the times you actually have stuff to do, its busy which means its hard to get it done. cvs is a lot more involved then ya think. they should honestly raise up the pay a little

    Advice to Management

be a little more friendly to your associates

    Pros

    You can learn a lot

    Cons

It really depends on the staff, the one I work at has a mean pharmacy manager and the other techs who have been there think they can boss you around.

    Advice to Management

    be nicer!

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There are none at this company

    Cons

No holidays off, no weekends off, no nights off, understaffed, underpaid , over worked, high expectations from mngt with no help. OH and if it snows , too bad you have to get there.

    Advice to Management

Have Larry Merlo take a cut from his 19,000.00 an HOUR posisition and give some money back to the stored so we don't have to work alone at night

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

immediate managers have always been great and understanding.
Customers , especially regulars, are also great once you build a relationship with them.
Hours can be flexible and as long as you request time off two weeks in advance, you'll get it off.
Employees get along and I've never had any difficulty working along side with other people.

    Cons

Pay for this type of position and workload isn't appropriate,
Upper management doesn't know what its like to run a store so they expect things that aren't realistic especially when they continue to cut hours every year.
Breaks are virtually impossible to have because of workload.
Raises are minimal and there isn't much incentive for employees.
No employee appreciation from upper management, not even during the holidays.
    Cut in hours.
Only a manager/shift and one cashier for most shifts limiting what you can get done.
Upper management care more about production than the actual employee.
Company wastes money opening new stores instead of focusing on already existing stores and making them better.

    Advice to Management

Care more about employees and have some incentive programs.
Stop cutting hours if you want better running store.
    Raise wages.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Health Benefits after 90 days.
Store discount on pretty much everything.

    Cons

Taking this job means that you will not receive any training due to the fact that the store has zero training hours and the hours that are allocated to the SMIT will be used to run the store because of the labor constraints. This translates into sub par training and not knowing what you are truly doing while being responsible for everything. In my opinion, the hardware and software systems that CVS uses need to be replaced 20 years ago. When the store price and inventory guns do not work IT tells you to "bang them on something hard." Work life balance is so bad that if you have a family you might have a hard time remembering what they look like. Seven days a week is not uncommon. And if you take a day off you will come back into a mess the next day. There is no question in my mind that CVS is an awful company to work for. There systems do not work, there are no efficient practices, and training is fly by the seat of your pants. DO NOT WORK THERE!!

    Advice to Management

Complete overhaul to the smart system that you have been using for 20+ years would be at the top of my list. Having reporting that you can easily access and filter would be more efficient and create more time to do all the tasks that are required in the store. How do you give genuine care to customers on the sales floor if everyone in the front store is on a register most of the time. The answer is you cannot. Add more labor hours to complete the tasks and help customers. You say that you care about your customers and colleagues when it is extremely clear that the stock holders are the only people that you care about. Take care of the employees and everything else will fall into place.

I worked at CVS Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The only pro I can think of are the wonderful regular patients I encountered on a daily basis. They are the only reason work was tolerable.

    Cons

It's too much like high school in the store I worked at. Too much gossip, too much trash talking and too much disrespect. It was very hostile often and unpleasant to work most days. While you won't like everyone you work with, you shouldn't be made to feel like you are unwelcome in your place of employment.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Fellow employees are great and so is the managers you work with.

    Cons

Since your salary a lot your time is used too make up for all the low hours your get to use. You work more like 60 rather then the 45 they ask you to. Low hours and very hard to hire new help.
