I worked at CVS Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They provided more than enough training time, shadowing other pharmacists in stores as I learned the computer system

    Cons

Every single night you will go home wondering how many mistakes got by you that day, and praying that they weren't serious. CVS workflow is set up for pharmacists to fail. I had times where I had six technicians working with me as 1 RPh. And they were all typing, filling, making different kinds of mistakes that I had to catch. CVS metrics are a joke, they track literally everything down to the second and the district managers run daily reports on every conceivable statistic. It's very much a "big brother"-type company. I feel incredibly thankful that I managed to escape there with my psyche, my health, and my pharmacy license intact. It's that dangerous.

    Advice to Management

Stop setting your pharmacists up to fail with the workload and the ridiculous metrics. Rather than playing defensive medicine, where you have a floor full of lawyers waiting because of all the misfills that good pharmacists make (due to your workflow), be more proactive to prevent these errors from happening. Stop treating your Pharmacists and Pharmacy district managers as if they are 100% expendable.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lenient Management, Interesting work, less control over what you do, Lots of Free Food, Being able to fax and copy whenever you like, Nice pay!

    Cons

Lacks adequate training for new hires and so many mistakes are made.
Favoritism by supervisors to colleagues they know.

    Advice to Management

Treat everyone equally and do not show favoritism.
PLEASE work on providing ample training to your new hires
so they don't cause frustration for the patients we serve and money loss
to the company. We provide very expensive drugs and mistakes
    costs us money!!

I worked at CVS Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Pay, Benefits, 401 K, Insurance,

    Cons

NO work life balance, Salary paid for 40 hrs and working roughly around 55 + hrs a week. LUNCH BREAK doesn't exist... told by HR department you are a "highly compensate" employee already. Company allows Supervisors to hire boyfriends/girlfriends/spouses to work underneath them in stores, which they oversee. When presented to HR & the DM it was overlooked... CODE of ETHICS! NOT honored why have it if you are not going to honor it or have a ethics line for employees to call. Company has poor ethics and integrity

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees that you label as "highly compensate" better and stand behind your Code of Ethics and utilize your Ethics Line.

    Pros

the money is is only good thing about this job but they have to be competitive so they have no choice...

    Cons

the list is too long. no time for real customer service as we are now robots watching the clock...too many duties in not enough time. no support from upper management. only concerned with scores as they do not care about dollars in the bank your store makes. horrible company.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - job stability
    - high salaries with good benefits
    - loved counseling patients and interacting with customers.

    Cons

-all about the numbers and metrics
    - If you reach your goals they will always push you to do more, your best is never good enough
    - The company strive to make the most money possible so they always cut hours in order to save money whether or not you are over your script budget. (unrealistic expectations)
    - no time for break, the only breaks i get on my 13 hour days is when i use the restroom.
    - focusing on bottom line and not the customers

    Advice to Management

Appreciate your staff and thank them for all the hard work and extra time we put in. A thank you goes a long way. I think the company goals are ethical but i don't believe they are being passed down from the supervisors.
