I have been working at CVS Health as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

The buildings are beautiful and the office space is very comfortable. Reasonable sized cubicles and access to supplies. The people are very friendly and open to helping each other out.

    Cons

Mostly independent work. You find yourself on your computer for long amounts of time but so does everyone else. On the bright side they do hold meetings every now and then so you can meet all of your co workers and also the cafeteria is great!

    Advice to Management

Be more open to newer more innovative ideas. There are ways to streamline current processes and I do not feel like we are performing at our top capacity due to certain technological set backs.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time

    Pros

The work environment heavily dependent on department and management chain.

    Cons

Too much management levels to do anything efficiently. Benefit package, including prescriptions, sub-par for a Fortune 10 company.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to employees.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots of good people and decent products

    Cons

Demanding, Short sighted, not particularly interested in professional employees, worst benefits I have ever had - Very expensive medical for a family, Lousy raises, little alignment in management levels, very hierarchical and bearuocratic

    Advice to Management

There is a difference between a retail store employee and a technical employee in a more office centric role. Much more consideration of the actual hours employees work and more understanding of the position employees are in when chided for not entering actual hours one day and being over planned hours the next. No win situations like this abound.

    Pros

Great company, lots of opportunities for advancement. Decent salaries and benefits. Great employee discount at the store.

    Cons

Constant process changes. Understaffed in many departments and especially the pharmacies. Undertrained in many áreas

    Advice to Management

Be a little more proactive instead of reactive. Cvs is a hug company and when we are not prepared for a specific rollout or new release it impacts all departments and ultimately th customers.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good pay and lots of programs to support work life balance. Lots of career potential - many different paths you could take a good foundational development tools.

    Cons

Lack of consistency of career experience across enterprise and management. Very metric driven. Too many silos in the organization. Need to work together more.

    Advice to Management

I think CVS does a good job talking about what they want to be to customers and patients. I'm just not sure the actions are there to make it come to life. I wish stores would be more empowered to do what's best for customers and the leadership teams would recognize we are all in the same boat together instead of just protecting their work and their teams. This silo approach isn't going to bring a cascade of change needed to stay competitive in retail healthcare.

    Pros

I received a call almost immediately after applying to the position. I was very impressed by that quick response time. The job paid more than I was used to, and the building was climate-controlled, with multiple breaks throughout the day.

    Cons

This was a contract job involving a temporary project. Since it was a call center, the workload was very unpredictable, and while some days I'd be bored, other days I'd be busy to the point of being stressed.

    Advice to Management

The training seemed a bit unstructured, as I often felt I was thrust into situations I wasn't necessarily prepared for.
