I have been working at CVS Health part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The discount is decent, would be better if you could use it with sale items like other big chain retailers.

    Cons

The self- checkout doesn't work- I spend more time fixing those which makes it hard to provide excellent customer service; the slow pos system is also making the customer's experience frustrating; the lack of labor hours makes it a field day for thieves; the lack of labor hours makes the work unnecessarily frustrating; hence, I am looking for another job.

    Advice to Management

Work in the store for a week and see how inefficient the company's strategies are.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pay is great for pharmacists. Upper management are enthusiastic and really seem to care about you....when trying to recruit new grads

    Cons

Corporate is constantly cutting tech hours and simultaneously increasing demands from pharmacy staff. The pay is not worth the stress.

I worked at CVS Health full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good mission.
President of CVS Pharmacy is progressive.
    Nice people.
    Good professional challenges.

    Cons

President of CVS Health overall is a dinosaur who in no way understands how to manage the company CVS needs to grow into.
Culture: massive gap between what they say and what they do.
Middle managers are yes men to our if touch top leaders.

    Advice to Management

Put Helena Foulkes in charge of the overall organization.
Streamline the layers and shift to a culture that supports growth, not the status quo.
Find a more sophisticated way to manage costs than your annual jack welch-style lay offs. Grow up as a company.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Decent pay and benefits.401K matching up to 6%.
    - Ability to roll-over vacation days to the subsequent year, rather than applying the "use it or lose it" mentality.

    Cons

    - The company is trying to do too much all at once. Policy changes coupled with political in-fighting make it challenging to get things done.
    - Medical insurance options are limited to health savings accounts. As a "health" company, the lack of offerings feels contrary to our corporate image..
    - The company is extremely top-heavy, with layers upon layers of management and far fewer individuals doing the work.
    - While "innovation" is encouraged, implementation is random. Some new ideas are summarily dismissed for being contrary to the norm. Other new ideas are launched and - despite disastrous results - continue to drain valuable resources in order to avoid declaring them a failure.
    - Turn-over is huge. I've reported to over 10 different supervisors in the past five years. I am not an exception.

    Pros

Great people work for CVS. Decent salaries.

    Cons

Never knew exactly what was expected of you because the requirements of the job changed frequently. Upper management seemed to not care for their employees. Poor benefits, especially health and time off.
