I worked at CVS Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Competitive salary, great bonus (if you're not robbed of it due to nonsense "issues). Work remotely and decent software for tickets/requests. Great technology and all the best hardware/software in the industry. Lots of opportunity to learn and expand your skill sets working with top of the line solutions and the latest, cutting edge features.

    Cons

    1. Unskilled managers who are way over there heads directing engineers to assist clients with making changes that could put the company's network at risk. Upper mgmt willing to force teams to cut corners, clients exaggerate problems to force teams into bypassing change control. You could literally end up working 3 days straight because someone is now learning how their applications work (as they go). If your management (team mgmt and director) are clueless in what you and your teammates "do", complex project changes with multiple teams/business lines involved that are unsuccessful could be blamed on the one dept who's work was performed correctly.
How many sr managers does it take to tell one burning out engineer that a spell check exists in their script?

    Advice to Management

Half of you should be let go or resign, the half that cause problems out of nothing because they're afraid they may have no value... instead of being productive and learning the trade even just a little so you might actually be managers.

    Cons

contract worker are discriminated and its very unlikely to go permanent. most people in that company are all contract workers. This is not the place to aim for a future. You always need to have a plan B,

I have been working at CVS Health (Less than a year)

    Pros

I love the customers, and the management are very patient, and always glad to teach new employees the benefit of their experience, a great place to start if you're new as a cashier.

    Cons

Hourly pay is average, not easy to pay rent, and bills on. There isn't a huge H.R. shortfall, so you may have a challenge getting the amount of hours you need if there are others available to work the days you're also available.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Depending on where you work the other techs are great & hardworking. Opportunities to float to other CVS Pharmacies to help.

    Cons

Wages are rated lower than average. Never allow overtime. The hiring process is lacking. One out of 5 hired is worth training and the other 4 quit within a few months. Allow trainees to show up late or do no call no shows without repercussions.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring pt techs & give your ft techs the hours they want. I shouldn't have to beg for hours. Acknowledging the hard working techs & showing them how valuable they are would go really far in starting to keep them instead of losing them to the competition. Visit all stores on a regular basis and talk privately with staff about issues and assist in fixing it.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Compensation is at level of comparably sized companies.

    Cons

BA Management is not professional. When there are issues, instead of addressing the problem, they add additional work/worksheet/template to be filled out. Mgmt is sloppy, and unwilling to go to bat for direct reports or even be consistent in maintaining the BA CoE guidelines on a project. Mgmt mandates unrealistic deadline that result in EXTREME amounts of overttime consistently - ex. Until 8pm to 11 pm, or weekend work on a regular basis - it is NOT an exception, and it is across the enterprise. CVS tried to deliver most of their project work in about a six month time frame, so they drive employees to do a year's volume in that six months. The result is that people are overly aggressive, short tempered. My colleagues work hard, but mgmt perpetuates a sense of panic and dissatisfaction. Though there is an internal "atta boy" recognition program, the daily feedback from BA Mgmt is dread, low key threat, critical attitude, not peer respect. Though labled as "perpetual improvement" from Sr. Mgmt there is really just an atmosphere of perpetual fingerpointing, criticizm, and cya - especially from the mgmt level. Very toxic environment.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to reduce head count by restricting the project cycle to 6 months so you can bring in consultants for six months. Recognize that leveling off the work load will improve retention and increase inherent system and process knowledge. Other companies in the health care industry are able to do this. What's the problem?

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay is very good. You are held accountable for running a profitable store that provides great customer service.

    Cons

Not enough payroll to have a perfect store. There are too many silly metrics to chase after that have no direct correlation to improved profit or customer service performance.

    Advice to Management

Stop giving us silly metrics to chase. We can find we ways to cheat them, and they don't serve a functional purpose. We need 3 people per shift.
