I have been working at CVS Health (More than a year)

    Pros

Many of the Target pharmacies that were seized by CVS still maintain their Target roots of excellent customer service. Myself included. Though, as I find myself surrounded by fewer and fewer of my old target friends, I may need to do some research into other career fields.

    Cons

Perhaps with a little more training and what one could reasonably call a staff, we'd be performing at peak level. However, I cannot see the future.

    Advice to Management

    Delegate wisely

I worked at CVS Health (More than a year)

    Pros

-Most of the people within the department were easy to get a long with.
    -Flexible working schedule

    Cons

-Unless you are in sales you don't matter.
-Administrative Personnel are treated as such and it shows.
-Red tape within the company is ridiculous.
    -Your opinion really doesn't matter.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees, make them feel like they are important and not just working everyday because they have to, help them work because they want to. Show them they are appreciated.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Compensation. Quality people. Good company results. Healthy strategic direction. Company is growing. In general. People do care and it is an extremely large company

    Cons

Pace of work is extreme. Company tries to run lean but process maturity and standardization are not present making a culture of work harder not smarter

    Advice to Management

Find a way to allow people to fix the problems instead of running 100 mph

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

a good stable job by Rhode Island standards and it's ever lack-luster economy. People are generally treated fairly, although there is a lot of corporate politics and games.

    Cons

a bit behind the times intellectually, ideologically, creatively and design wise, and not very open to change or receptive of new ideas. Most upper management employees have been there forever, build fiefdoms and have a death grip on their jobs which blocks the advancement of others and new ideas.; Additionally, the physical workplace environment varies with some of the work areas and cubicles being very small, dated and behind the times in concepts like telecommuting and hoteling shared work areas. The corporate headquarters is also located out in the middle of the woods with few amenities (i.e. - no health club for employees). Stingy with raises and bonuses.

    Advice to Management

clear out the old wood and make room for some new ideas and fresh talent. Stop playing and condoning corporate politics and really embrace new ideas and talent. Larry Merlo shouldn't be one of the highest, if not the highest, paid CEO's in the world.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Don't have many anymore. Use to care about employees. No more bonuses. Most of us shifted down to hourly. Love immediate teammates

    Cons

Too many to list. Hourly not salary anymore. Bosses constantly scrutinizing everything you do. Feels like your always walking on eggshells

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Easy hours, unless you are on a high performing team

Decent benefits (but not the best) with stock options and employer 401k match, bonus

Sometimes work is interesting if you can end up in a team that does strategy

    Cons

Too political and heirachiacal, inflexible work/life arrangements, managers out for themselves

    Advice to Management

No advice will help this company

    Pros

Large, stable company provides good job security. Good employee benefits. Discount at retail locations.

    Cons

Hard to move up ranks. Too many departments and silos. Hard to get projects done because so many people have to play a part.

    Advice to Management

    Need to streamline operations.

    No pto
    No 401k
Temp to perm over 2+ years with no perm or pay raise

    Advice to Management

    Actually listen to employees
