    Pros

The company has been changing many things. They're focusing on employees and training, and have improved a lot. The values of this company is why I love working for them!

    Cons

Short staffed a lot. Cash registers could use some updates. A lot of cross training so it takes time to learn the areas.

I worked at CVS Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great initiatives to drive customer service and team member encouragement
Benefits are very nice, especially when it becomes a career move and not just a job
    Opportunities for advancement

    Cons

Asymmetrical on work and personal life balance, at times
Not all team members (regardless of level) play as a team
Lack of equitable distribution of accountability

    Advice to Management

DM, drop in more often on your stores during late afternoon and evening shifts unannounced, and get a truer perspective of what really goes on in the stores, especially outliers of the city.

I worked at CVS Health full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Learned a lot about managing a store.
    Discount was often nice.
Had a good relationship with DM.
Learned how to work with people.
Experience looks really good on my resume.

    Cons

Working on minimum hours in most stores, so the workload can feel like a lot on most days.
    No consistency on policy.
Doesn’t seem like corporate actually looks at the customer surveys. The biggest complaint was no one is on the sales floor.
    No work-life balance.
Pay isn’t as good for title.
They can transfer you to any store in the district no matter how far from your home, even if your pay isn’t good.

    Advice to Management

To Corporate Level: you don’t really know what it’s like to work on minimum hours. DM’s, RM’s, and above really need to assess how their stores look and work with a skeleton staff. There’s no room to call in sick if you’re actually sick. Also, actually read your surveys. The biggest complaint is needing more staff in stores, not just on truck days. Also, hold store managers accountable to their contract.

To Store Level: They need to actually follow the contact. It’s not fair to come in as a shift and then work every weekend while they have off. Same for cashiers. What’s the point of moving up to a shift position and have less of a work life balance than ever?

    Pros

The front is pretty chill. Always something to do and a great way to meet the community

    Cons

They have no remorse when firing you for no reason.

    Advice to Management

    Get out while you can

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits, paid vacation, paid holidays, opportunity to advance. If you're in a high volume store you will have a lot of help from your DM.

    Cons

They don't pay very well. They expect a lot for very little compensation. Low volume stores seem to get lost in the hustle of business.

I worked at CVS Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I worked there for nearly eight years, the benefits were amazing.

    Cons

It's really all about who you know when it comes to working in a good clean store and getting promoted.

    Advice to Management

Invest in team members who really want to move up within the company.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The employee discount is good. I really don't have very much to add besides that.

    Cons

CVS takes care of the pharmacist, nobody else. They make 6X more than any position in a retail store. CVS can't keep people because the money is terrible. They offer very few full time positions. The health benefits aren't good. The actual retail side is a joke. Open on all holidays.

    Advice to Management

It's funny the CEO made unprecedented bonuses the same year he capped salaries. That tells you everything.

I worked at CVS Health full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There is room for growth to a certain extent.
    Flexible hours at most locations.
    Good benefits and holiday pay.
    Small teamsize
    Opportunity to train in pharmacy

    Cons

    Working holidays.
Always alot to do which is nice but it can snowball at busier stores.
The typical yearly merit raise was about 2%
Only about 2 people working at the same time

    Advice to Management

Recognize employees for good work and offer 3rd shift more money hourly.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time

    Pros

Good benefits, vacation and mgmt. works with you when time needed off. Been employee for over 10+ yrs and it was a great place to work at.

    Cons

Corp cut store hours next to nothing, more workload than hrs or employees. Still expect everything to be done without the hrs in place or employees to cover the workload. Managers overworked, and not appreciated. Rest of crew mostly overworked at times for pay. Myself, I haven't gotten a raise due to restructure of shifts ...say I am at the roof of pay raises. So even if you meet or exceed manger expectations, forget getting compensated.

    Advice to Management

Restructure store operations and give back the stores their hours and let them hire more employees to help even the workload out. Open up more opportunities to current employees. Main focus: More hours for store and RX !!!
