I have been working at CVS Health full-time

    Pros

Everything is great about this company. Shift manager here & i make $14.00 an hour. You can’t really get close to that anywhere else. The benefits are amazing. & the opportunity to advance in the company is amazing! If your looking into joining our team, DO IT! You will not regret it!

    Cons

You will be on your feet a lot so expect that. It’s not a slow pace environment unless your location is slow. If you are lazy, do not apply. (But really that goes for anywhere.) Training is a little overwhelming just because there is so much of it but you get all the tools you need. It’s all about customer service, if you have poor customer service skills, again, do not apply or take the position.

    Advice to Management

Remember, success comes with stress in every situation you go through. (My motto in life) Don’t give up. Give it your all & you will be great at what you do. I love this company & i think you will too!

I worked at CVS Health part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Relatively easy, Never asked to work outside job description

    Cons

Scheduling for holidays was the worst as a supervisor. I never had a holiday off after working there for over a year.

    Advice to Management

Need better hands-on training other than LearNET. Got disciplined for mistakes made for "things I should know" even though I was never trained on that area.

I have been working at CVS Health part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

My overall store manager is great, as are most of my coworkers. The job isn't too demanding.

    Cons

Too few full time employees, front of store has 12 employees and only 4 get more than 30 hrs a week. Bickering among employees when a potential promotion comes along. Lack of reprimanding lazy or incompetent employees.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at CVS Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

-If you enjoy responsibility, supervisory positions are great here- but you may be given TOO much responsibility without appropriate compensation
-Some employees and customers are friendly
-Opportunity to advance if you take initiative
-Different departments to work in- photo, pharmacy, retail, stock

    Cons

-Long hours given at short notice (ie. being asked to open the store at 7am at 11pm the previous night..)
    -Low pay, minimal yearly raises
    -No recognition by superiors
-Delegated tasks meant for superiors (ie. I was doing the work of the general store manager and assistant manager, as the lead shift supervisor- third in command)
    -Disrespectful employees
-Angry pharmacy customers (to be expected though)
-No benefits, cutting the employee discount

    Advice to Management

Please hold management accountable for their duties, as they delegate many tasks to underlings that do not get paid much for doing the same amount of work (in addition to normal duties). It would be nice to get recognized for great work, even just a compliment, and merit-based raises. Shift supervisors should not be paid hourly.

I worked at CVS Health part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Easy day to day activities. All you have to do is keep the store stocked and looking good. If you do that you are golden.

    Cons

The staff was always tight, if someone didn's show to work, the shift has to call around other employees or other stores to get help.
