I have been working at Cabanillas & Associates, P.C. full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Working for Cabanillas & Associates is an ok job to learn. It's a good environment to work in and the staff gets along just fine.

    Cons

They over work you for the amount of pay we receive and expect for you not to complain. When it comes around for Christmas bonus they most definitely don't appreciate you by the amount you receive.

I worked at Cabanillas & Associates, P.C. full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

*eyeroll* The owner throws company parties from time to time.

    Cons

Everything!!! Micromanaging at its finest. You’ll probably have more freedom in jail. One of the Managing attorneys in particular is so fake and disrespect. They are cheap as hell, want you to do all the work with no pay. Management/HR is messy as hell and childish. If you are ever seeking to move on, they will hate you and try to violate you for the duration of your tenure. No need to give notice, they don’t deserve...

    Advice to Management

Worry about the work and paying people decent wages. Stop trying to be friends with staff and manage. Stop speaking to staff as if they are your children, we are all grown.

I worked at Cabanillas & Associates, P.C. full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

The company normally rewards hardworking offices with celebratory fancy events. Engaging with other employees through these events, whom you've only talked through email with, is pretty cool and fun. You get to learn a lot about this industry as you work, such as, the property market, taxes, loans, foreclosures, short sales, bankruptcy, legal matters, etc... Which is very beneficial for those young adults who are looking...

    Cons

There was favoritism among the liaisons and high ups. I would express my need for help in improving/ knowing how to complete my work, but was left with no constructive advice at all. Certain favorite employees would get away with clocking in much later during lunch without being reprimanded. There was an overwhelming amount of work/ pile up of files that were left untouched by previous employees, which affected the completion...

    Advice to Management

Lose the favoritism, and focus on the newer employees who need that extra supervision, training, and motivation to know how to successfully handle different situations in this industry. This way the flow of the work will be completed throughout ALL department and not become overwhelming. Also train Liaisons to really value the needs and questions of the newer employees!

I have been working at Cabanillas & Associates, P.C. full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

The environment is comfortable, they don’t care about much as long Is money is coming in. It’s convenient when you’re looking for an entry level job.

    Cons

You are overworked for the money you earn. You’re not valued for your good work ethic. The people who do nothing have a better chance at being listened to than the people who actually bend over backwards for the firm. This place is like high school when it comes to managers. HR has always been the more inappropriate person in the office, before and after.

    Advice to Management

Hire people with actual experience and professionalism

I worked at Cabanillas & Associates, P.C. full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Honestly, the only good thing I can say is that the co-workers there are awesome you will get along with just about everyone. Parties are fun, especially the roof top parties, but after certain hours the cops always show up as they are too loud for the area.

    Cons

Where do I begin, management over works you and have extremely high expectations that are just not reasonable. The pay is horrible especially with the work load and expectations they have of the employees. Christmas bonus is based on who you know and if you're good friends with management, not on merit. Beware of certain management as they are extreme unprofessional and will make you feel uncomfortable.....most attorney's...

    I worked at Cabanillas & Associates, P.C. full-time

    Pros

Events on the rooftop were fun.

    Cons

Not much of a professional atmosphere. No contact with clients. High volume.

    Advice to Management

Look at cases from the client's prospective. Just because they do not understand English or the process as well as others does not mean they do not deserve the same attention as anyone else. More training.

I worked at Cabanillas & Associates, P.C. full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

When there isn't a deadline, this is a nice, relaxed atmosphere. The firm throws great parties, but I'd rather have a holiday bonus.

    Cons

Management is not organized and they stress getting clients instead of providing service. Also the sales team does not have a background in law and makes promises that the Legal staff cannot keep.

    Advice to Management

Get sales people with experience in the law. Take a look at yourself and ask when you lost your morals.

    Pros

    Nothing worthy to share here.

    Cons

You are overworked at very low rates. You can lose your job without warning. False promises are constantly made. Everyone who has a job there knows somebody who works there. Some people get paid for not working and can't be fired.

    Advice to Management

Find a better firm to work for
