    Pros

Lots of overtime available and triple time is offered for holidays. A lot of different shifts are available when starting.

    Cons

Revolving door, they do not always understand the value of an employee because the door is revolving and unfortunately if your numbers are not up to par it can happen to you too.

I worked at Cablevision Systems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very good benefits, the free cable is truly a great savings. Great folks working here really not much else to say l.

    Cons

Be prepared to fill the role of a team lead back to back escalations for a big part of your day. No power to resolve a customer's issue you can literally be written up for one $1 credit out of policy which you believe helped a customer. Must bend over backwards if the customer mentions that they will write to corporate, culture of micromanagement you so have little room or say in your reps development.

    Advice to Management

If your supervisors are gonna handle that many escalations at least empower them to make decisions. I must email my manager, director and vp in order to apply 10$ credit.

I worked at Cablevision Systems (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The pay and benefits are great. medical, dental, vision, 401k, tuition reimbursement, etc.

    Cons

Its a stressful environment. In an 8 hr shift you will be constantly taking calls for 7 hrs, the other hour being your two 15 min breaks and a 30 min lunch. Average call is about 5 min, some may go 10-15 min, then you'll have 11 sec to notate the account before the next call is routed to you. Most customers are irate, confused, and/or entitled.

There are a slew of metrics you must meet (around 10 when i separated from the company). Some count towards your call center rank, the others are just to keep you in line. They range from how well the customer graded you interaction to adherence, which is just taking your breaks and lunch as scheduled. Your call center rank will come into play when there is a shift realignment which may happen every 6-12 months. That's right, your shift will change every 6-12 months, but if your numbers look good then you'll get a shift that fits into your personal life.

    Advice to Management

The threat of corrective action always loomed. Give your employees a break.

    Pros

The starting rate for customer service rep is $14.87. For the location in Newark, nj. There are no other pros

    Cons

They base your opportunity to bid for a better shift schedule on your scoring. The scoring is completely in accurate!!! If someone truly hates the company you cannot change their mind! There is NOTHING a rep can do to change a customers hatred of the company. Of course the customer will do a bad survey which then reflects poorly against you. You can't go to the bathroom without even being timed and it affecting scoring ONCE again. It's completely redicuoloe. If cablevision was such a great company it wouldn't have been bought out.. It's as simple as that. There is no stability with that Job at all! The hours suck! In Newark if you have bad scoring your shift will be 4pm-1am which is absolutely retarded.

    Advice to Management

How about improving the cheap equipment so there won't be as many calls. I have xfinity and NEVER have a issue with the service. That's the first problem. Secondly, that NPS scoring is garbage. A rep CAN NOT change a customer's mind or the way they feel even if they have went over and beyond. Your cheap equipment and horrible packages that are offered affects the Call with the rep. All the management are greedy animals. They don't care! They don't do ANYTHING. With this takeover, their job should be the first to go. Some are getting paid 6 figures and they literally do not have ANY job responsibilities besides hold pointless meetings once a month with supervisors. There is no point of supervisors either because all they do is watch tv. Literally ! There is no point for supervisors if there are leads. The retention rate is EXTREMELY high because you are all greedy animals and the company does NOT care about their employees.!

    Pros

Overtime, Food during meeting, shift bids

    Cons

Always have to do shift bids. Nothing is steady and job duties always change . To many rules and restrictions to follow. Customers are rude .

    Advice to Management

Stop changing your policies, and treat your employees better.

I have been working at Cablevision Systems full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good health benefits, vacation time, free cable, nice clean environment, TVs everywhere. I can't think of anything else, there isn't that much good left. Company is falling apart.

    Cons

The schedules suck! You will not have a life. There is no consideration in this place. So many changes have taken place since 2012 that people just can't keep up. THERE IS A RULE FOR EVERYTHING. Management has no idea what they are doing, they have a goal and it needs to be met period. Expectations for a supervisor are unrealistic. One person is expected to do the work of 3 people( not exaggerating). You barely have any time to develop your tea. They want you to come in early, leave late. There are shift bids every 6 months so you really can't count on a schedule, which by the way are "performance" based. That is not true if you are cool with the managers that is the only way you will get what you want(lucky for me lol). Pay is not the greatest but they take new people all the time and pay them more than those promoted within. Absolutely NO LOYALTY. HR is just looking for someone to fire. HR managers speak of firing people as if it was a sport, no respect but they are really good at pretending to care. I will be resigning soon, I care for my team, I can't treat them the way they treat me.

    Advice to Management

If your employees are stressed and unhappy they won't perform. Respect your employees.

    Pros

Good benefits, and salaries were competitive.

    Cons

No job security anymore. Sometimes there was no direction at all, so management needs to work on that. Very little room for growth too. Sometimes, it can get very stressful with call volume and other duties involved.
