    Pros

The starting rate for customer service rep is $14.87. For the location in Newark, nj. There are no other pros

    Cons

They base your opportunity to bid for a better shift schedule on your scoring. The scoring is completely in accurate!!! If someone truly hates the company you cannot change their mind! There is NOTHING a rep can do to change a customers hatred of the company. Of course the customer will do a bad survey which then reflects poorly against you. You can't go to the bathroom without even being timed and it affecting scoring ONCE again. It's completely redicuoloe. If cablevision was such a great company it wouldn't have been bought out.. It's as simple as that. There is no stability with that Job at all! The hours suck! In Newark if you have bad scoring your shift will be 4pm-1am which is absolutely retarded.

    Advice to Management

How about improving the cheap equipment so there won't be as many calls. I have xfinity and NEVER have a issue with the service. That's the first problem. Secondly, that NPS scoring is garbage. A rep CAN NOT change a customer's mind or the way they feel even if they have went over and beyond. Your cheap equipment and horrible packages that are offered affects the Call with the rep. All the management are greedy animals. They don't care! They don't do ANYTHING. With this takeover, their job should be the first to go. Some are getting paid 6 figures and they literally do not have ANY job responsibilities besides hold pointless meetings once a month with supervisors. There is no point of supervisors either because all they do is watch tv. Literally ! There is no point for supervisors if there are leads. The retention rate is EXTREMELY high because you are all greedy animals and the company does NOT care about their employees.!

    Pros

    They offer free cable tv

    Cons

So many to list. Corrupt lead system. If you are "social" with the supervisors and managers you get more good leads. Management looks the other way and the rich get richer. Management cares more about cell phone usage and whether or not an employee might be reading a newspaper at their desk, than people who actually cheat the system and make more then people who don not cheat. They treat all employees (except for their buddies) like teenage employees working part time jobs.
Also they don't take good advice from employees for fear they would lose their management jobs. Most of the employees are smarter than the department manager.

    Advice to Management

Quit. Let non-corrupt people have a chance

    Pros

The medical and dental benefits. Going to abuse it before I quit.

    Cons

If you work in the call center, prepare to be micromanaged. Supervisors listen to your calls, pull you for coaching, you're ranked against your peers, there is so much constant change it is frustrating!!!

Everyone who started in my class hates this job, and so far there have been 4 people who have left already.

You're expected to perform like a robot everyday and tou only get 30 minutes for lunch. Just enough time to walk outside to get your food, get back on the elevator and then dump it in the trash because thats it, times up.

They don't care about you at all and pretend they do by smiling at you, but the same manager will turn around and write you up or give you a corrective action.

And good luck if someone you know is sick because getting time off is like hitting the lotto. If you use up all of your sick and personal time, you are sol.

The job is absolutely miserable and most of us are looking for other jobs while on calls with customers.

    Advice to Management

Learn your job and stip pretending, morons.

I have been working at Cablevision Systems full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good health benefits, vacation time, free cable, nice clean environment, TVs everywhere. I can't think of anything else, there isn't that much good left. Company is falling apart.

    Cons

The schedules suck! You will not have a life. There is no consideration in this place. So many changes have taken place since 2012 that people just can't keep up. THERE IS A RULE FOR EVERYTHING. Management has no idea what they are doing, they have a goal and it needs to be met period. Expectations for a supervisor are unrealistic. One person is expected to do the work of 3 people( not exaggerating). You barely have any time to develop your tea. They want you to come in early, leave late. There are shift bids every 6 months so you really can't count on a schedule, which by the way are "performance" based. That is not true if you are cool with the managers that is the only way you will get what you want(lucky for me lol). Pay is not the greatest but they take new people all the time and pay them more than those promoted within. Absolutely NO LOYALTY. HR is just looking for someone to fire. HR managers speak of firing people as if it was a sport, no respect but they are really good at pretending to care. I will be resigning soon, I care for my team, I can't treat them the way they treat me.

    Advice to Management

If your employees are stressed and unhappy they won't perform. Respect your employees.

I have been working at Cablevision Systems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good Pay, opportunity for overtime, Close to free Cable, decent Medical, Dental and Vision. Depending on where you're placed you can have the opportunity to work close to home.

    Cons

Very little room for growth, favoritism, lack of professionalism, promotions given undeservedly to people who do not have the credentials, merit or put out the work effort. Unhealthy and depressing work environment. Complaints fall on deaf ears. Work schedules are VERY VERY unreliable and constantly changes so your work/life balance… that doesn't exist here.

    Advice to Management

Management is a JOKE!!! All they do is walk around the center, in and out of their offices, get into huddles to pretend they're having constructive meetings in improving the work environment for their employees when they're really not!!!

Our current owners "The Dolan Family" should look into this and do a complete overhaul from managers, supervisors and leads that are ripping them off on a daily basis. Give a chance to qualified individuals that have Bachelors and Masters degrees that are stuck handling phone calls because of these unqualified individuals that are managing us... If it's too late for you guys to fix this managerial epidemic that's all over your call centers then I hope Altice steps up to the plate. Your qualified hard-working employees are going to leave, leaving the unqualified educational lacking employee to represent your company.

I worked at Cablevision Systems full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

It was good pay $16+ per hour plus commission approx 52k per year. A lot of multi-tasking. I enjoyed working on the phones in the call center and helping customer's to make informed buying decisions. The benefits were fair, could be better.

    Cons

The main problem with working their is the Management which constantly had it's head up it's behind and they didn't mix well with the Reps on the phones. Reps were constantly micro-managed beyond all measure and forced into doing tasks that were beyond their job descriptions....example - working as a retention rep/inside sales rep, but then eventually getting those reps to do outbound work and keep them in a data base for later work?. Every time you turned around they were piling on more and more work - like giving out credits, more multi-tasking, more room for error, then using those errors as justification for terminating you. It was a revolving door nightmare. I absolutely refuse to work in a call center environment like that ever again. Too stressful and not worth the effort.

    Advice to Management

Learn to Stop taking all the work credit for yourselves. The reps on the phones are your main work horse. Learn to give them accredidation for their work as well !! Learn to be team leaders instead of being the back stabbing narcissistic s.o.b.'s that you really are !!!!

    Cons

Poor management, poor product, misleading the customer is encouraged, work outside in all weather

    Advice to Management

Sales people are treated poorly, compensation plan regularly changes in the company's best interest. You are only as good as your last sale attitude.
